Amelia
The entire way to the airport I force myself to think through different possibilities, different outcomes for each situation. Luckily I think Alice was so focused on James decisions that she hadn't picked up on Bella's or my constantly changing decisions.
Just as I had hoped, the airport was very crowded. Now we just had to figure out an escape plan.
"I'm going to get you both something to eat." Alice says as she stands to her feet.
"Thanks." Bella smiles at her.
Emmett was stood some feet away, he was on the phone with Rosalie. I get an idea then, this was our chance.
"Emmett, we're gonna go to the bathroom." I whisper just loud enough for him to hear. He turns and nods at Bella and I, signaling that he had heard. I didn't expect for him to follow us but he did, though he kept a slight distance and stood a few feet outside the doors while we went in.
I knew that we wouldn't have much time now. Alice was bound to see something soon. Once in the bathroom, we sprint out the other side, down the escalators and out the doors.
"Now what?" Bella gasps, catching her breath. People give us strange looks. I caught a glance of myself in the bathroom so I'm not surprised. I look like I'm dead-not in the beautiful vampire way-with dark bags under my eyes, messy hair, pale flushed skin, and Jaspers oversized coat.
"Now we just have to get there." I'm able to flag down a cab, and the both of us practically throw ourselves in the car. Bella gives the driver a wad of cash and the name of the ballet studio.
"Thank you." I thank the driver as I climb out of the small cab. Bella tells him to keep the change before he drives away.
I take a deep breath, pulling Jaspers coat around myself tighter. I realize then that I had broken my promise. I feel the guilt expand through my chest, making my heart ache. Jasper would think this was a reckless decision, but it wasn't reckless.
Sacrificing myself was the only way to protect the ones I love. I only wish that I was enough for James, and that Bella could go on with her life without the danger of this hunter.
It dawns on me then, as we stand outside the ballet studio, that if I play my cards right, if James doesn't kill us the moment we walk in, that Bella just might have a chance.
With Alices visions, it wouldn't be too long before they could get here...right?
I would do whatever I had to if it meant that Bella might have a chance.
I just hope that Jasper finds a way to forgive me for what I'm going to do.
"Let's do this." I say as confidently as I can manage. Bella reaches her hand out for me, I grab hold of it, and together, we walk into the ballet studio.
We move along quietly. The room was just as I remembered it, big and open, a ballet bar wrapped around most of the room. The walls were covered in mirrors.
"Bella? Amelia?" our mother calls out to us. We turn around in circles trying to figure out where she was.
"There!" I pull Bella towards a closet in the back of the room.
"Mom! Mom we're here!" Bella shouts as we run over, I let go of Bella's hand to yank the doors of the closet open.
My heart stopped at the sight in front of us. It was a tv screen, playing an old home video. He tricked us.
"Girls, you scared me!" Renée's voice plays from the speakers.
The video stops and shock settles over me as I take a few steps back. Edward was right, this is all one big game to James. And he had won.
