Amelia
Screaming.
It was irritating, and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
"Easy hun, we've got you. You're ok." An unfamiliar voice, a woman. Something cold runs through me then and the screaming stops.
*****
"Son, what is it?" the voice seems familiar. I try to place it.
"I wish I could do something. All I can do is see what she sees. She's been reliving it over and over." I recognize this voice now, it was Edward.
"Try talking to her. I'll call him."
"Amelia," he sighs "I know you're in there. It's time to wake up now." I want to roll my eyes, but I can't.
I groan mentally. He lets out a humorless laugh.
"I know you can hear me."
Shut up Edward.
"Did you seriously just tell me to shut up?" I could hear a hint of relief in his laugh.
"Is she awake?" Alice.
"Not exactly. But you will be pleased to know that she can hear you. And she's still sassing me." I could practically feel him roll his eyes as he spoke.
"They're finished talking to Bella, you can go back in now." A chair screeches against the floor.
"Hey Amelia." Alice was right beside me now.
"Since you can hear me, I'm going to get straight to the point. You should be waking any moment now and I'd very much like it if you stick to it this time. Bella woke up several days ago, so we're all just waiting on you now." she speaks very calmly yet sternly.
This time? Days ago? How long have I been out?
"Alice, she'll wake when she's ready." Carlisle's voice speaks calmly, he sounded further away.
With a groan, I am finally able to open my eyes, thankful there was no light to blind me.
"I suppose she's ready then." Carlisle laughs lightly. "I'll go get your doctor and mother." he leaves after giving me a warm smile.
"Let them all know!" Alice calls after him.
I blink a few times, clearing my vision. I'm in a decent sized room, the window blinds were shut tightly, allowing little to no light in.
"Here." Alice hands me a little paper cup of water after helping me sit up. I take it, wincing at the soreness of my body.
"Welcome back."
I roll my eyes, she smiles wider. I feel something cold gently run across my fingers on my left. I didn't have to look to know who it was.
"Jasper." I manage to whisper out, my voice was hoarse and scratchy. His eyes seem to brighten as he sucks in a sharp breath, gently taking my hand into his.
"Drink some more." Alice had put a straw in the cup now, though I don't know where she got it. I take in another sip, only briefly turning away from Jasper.
"Jazz." I breath out a sigh of relief, my voice sounding much more clear than before. He looked...bad. I immediately felt the guilt rip through my entire body with the understanding that it was my fault.
"Amelia." his voice was low and gentle but so full of emotion that I nearly cried. I didn't need him to show me for me to understand this time around.
