Amelia
"Are you sure Alice?" a blonde man asks, leaning against the back of a couch.
"I'm positive." the petite girl nods her head.
"Is it even possible?" a bulky boy asks.
"I don't see why not. Have you seen anything else Alice?" the blonde man asks again.
"Just that." she lets out a sigh.
I wake with a start. My breathing was heavier than normal, and once again, my skin was clammy.
"What the hell." I murmur to myself. Despite the fact that I had a thick blanket and comforter on, I was freezing.
I rub my eyes as I yawn. My clock read 6:54. I sigh, knowing that I won't be going back to sleep. I might as well get ready for school.
I grab a towel and make my way into the bathroom. I take a quick shower, and blow dry my hair. I considered curling it at the ends but I could hear Charlie's alarm go off and I didn't want to take up the bathroom any longer.
I quickly run to my room, not very keen on having Charlie see me in nothing but a towel.
I slide on a pair of skinny jeans and a baby blue hoodie with the words "Save the Turtles" on it with a sea turtle pictured below it. I slip on a pair of tattered Vans, double knotting the laces to make sure they were not going to drag on the floor.
I was walking over to my little desk to put some makeup on when a knock at there is a knock at my door. Just as I turn to open it, it hits me hard in the head. I stumble back, falling onto my butt with a slight groan.
"Oh my gosh, Amelia are you ok?" Bella bursts in with wide eyes.
"Yeah I'm great, totally great." I groan.
"Oh no." she winces.
"I'm assuming I'm bleeding." I sighed as Bella became very pale very quick.
"I'm gonna get Charlie." she grimaces, quickly making her way out of the room.
I let out a sigh, I know it can't be that bad. But she's a bit weak around blood. I pull myself to my feet, feeling a bit light headed but considering what just happened I wasn't all that surprised.
"I thought I heard you fall." Charlie notes as he walks into my room.
"Oh geez." he grimaces as he steps closer.
"I'm fine, really dad." I wave it off. I felt relatively fine anyways.
"Sorry kid, but I think I'm going to have to take you to get that looked at." he sighs, knowing that I wasn't going to be happy.
"Come on dad, can't we just put a bandaid on it or something." I groan, sitting on my bed as he takes a closer look.
"Just to be safe." he rubs his neck.
"I really don't want to make you late to work." I sigh.
"Don't worry about it. I'll call and let them know what happened. They'll understand." he shrugs.
"They have to, you're the Chief." I point out.
"I'm still going to school." I add as he leads me out of my room, he insisted that he carry my bag just in case.
"Sure kid, if the doctor says you're good to go I'll drop you off." he agrees.
"Wish me luck." I call out to my sister who was now sat in the kitchen, eating a bowl of cereal.
She waved goodbye, her mouth full.
Charlie stands at the front desk, checking me in. The whole process was actually very quick.
"Thanks." he nods curtly before making his way back to me.
"Alright, you're checked in, they'll be taking you back in a minute." he sighs as he sits beside me.
"I'm sure it looks worse than it is." I shrug.
"You haven't even looked at it kid." he laughs, clearly seeing past my attempt to comfort him.
"Miss Swan?" a nurse calls out.
I stand up, Charlie follows closely behind me, still wary about my balance.
"You can take a seat on this bed right here, I'm going to take your vitals and then the doctor will be in." she explains, gesturing for me to climb onto the small ER bed.
She works quickly, informing us that my heart rate was a bit quick, taking it a second time to be sure.
"I'm not a fan of emergency rooms." I explain as she rereads nearly identical numbers.
"I see, I'll make a note of that. The doctor should be in any second." she says, wheeling her little cart away, pulling the curtain a bit to give us some privacy.
"The wait is really short here." I comment after she's gone.
"It's pretty great isn't it. Considering how clumsy your sister is, I'm sure it will come in handy." he laughs, making me roll my eyes a bit.
An oddly familiar looking man walks over then. His hair was a pale blonde, his skin even more pale, with eyes that were a bright golden color.
"I heard your daughter was in. I assumed it must have been Bella again. It seems you have two accident prone daughters Chief." the man laughs, shaking my dads hand with a warm smile.
"I was just telling Amelia here it's going to be quite handy that your wait time is next to nothing." he grins.
The doctor turns to me, still smiling.
"Hello Amelia, I'm Doctor Cullen. It's a pleasure to meet you." he offers his hand to me. I took it gently, immediately noticing how absolutely cold his hand is.
"Nice to me you Doctor Cullen. I wish it were under better circumstances, though I would like to say that I'm not accident prone. Bella hit me with a door." I laugh a bit.
"I see. It seems you have quite a cut there, and that's just from the door?" he asks, leaning a bit closer to get a better look.
"I turned to open it just as she did open it." I shrug.
"That's quite a hit you took. Are you feeling any dizziness, nausea, anything out of the ordinary?" he questions, taking a step back as he writes something down.
"Nothing you wouldn't expect. My head hurts a bit and I was a little lightheaded at first but I'm fine now." I tell him truthfully.
"That's good. It could have been worse." he glances up at me.
"Will she need stitches?" Charlie asks once Doctor Cullen stops writing.
"Luckily no. I'm going to put two butterfly bandaids on it and she should heal up just fine." he smiles genuinely at us.
"Told you so." I look pointedly at Charlie.
Charlie raises his hands up in the air as his eyebrows raise in defeat.
Doctor Cullen takes a small cotton swab and gently dabs around the cut. "It looks worse than it is." he reassures Charlie who was stood watching a few feet away.
"How are you holding up Miss Swan?" the doctor asks as he tosses the swab into a hazardous waste trash can.
"Stung a bit but nothing too bad." I shrug.
"That's good." he smiles.
"Thankfully it isn't too deep. It should heal up nicely." he predicts as he takes his gloves off, throwing them away.
"Is she alright to go to school?" Charlie asks once Doctor Cullen finished filling out a form.
"Oh absolutely. I'll write her up a note."
