"You're going to spend your freshman year of college...on a ship?" Charlie's eyebrows pull together in confusion.
"Yes. It makes the most sense for me. I wanted to take a leap year to travel, but Jasper convinced me that this way, I'll be able to travel and study." I explain, pushing a few papers that explain the more intricate details towards him.
"You didn't even tell me you were applying." he glances at me as he puts his reading glasses on.
"I wasn't sure I would get in. I didn't want to jinx anything." my fingers tap the table nervously.
"Have you talked to your mother about this yet?" he sets the papers down.
"No. I wanted to see what you thought first." It's true, but I'm also positive that my mother will think it's an incredible opportunity.
"How much is it going to cost?" he sighs after a few moments of him staring down at the papers.
"It won't cost me anything." I shrug. With Carlisle's help, I was able to put together what looks like a paper full of legitimate scholarships and grants.
"I'll just have to pay to use an international phone once every few weeks. Otherwise all my costs are covered." I smile as I see him begin to give in.
"Is this really what you want?" he pinches his nose just under his glasses. I nod quickly.
"Let me sleep on it." he nods his head a few times.
"Ok. Thanks dad." I peck his cheek and grab my bag, I told the three musketeers (Jacob, Quil, and Embry) that I would go hiking with them today.
"I'll be back later, I'm off to the res'. Dinner is in the fridge." I wave goodbye before heading out the door.
Bella was spending the day with her friends while the Cullens went hunting, which left me with the truck since Jessica picked her up.

"I'm home!" I shout as I walk in through Billy's front door.
"Finally! These boys are getting restless." Billy shouts back.
Walking into the living room I find it packed with several others. I recognize them as Harry and Sue Clearwater-good friends of Charlie's-as well as their two children, Leah and Seth. I had met them when I was younger and we typically hung out-along with Jacob-when Billy, Harry and Charlie would go fishing.
"What's up everyone, been awhile!" I laugh, hugging Sue before shaking Harry's hand.
"Are we ready to go?" Quil wonders as the adults start talking about some sort of nasty mosquito that seems to have been getting worse lately.
"Yeah." Jacob stands to his feet, Embry, Quil, follow.
"Hey kids, why don't all of you go, we have some things to discuss." Sue Clearwater smiles kindly at the others.
"Mom-" Leah starts but stops when her mother gives her one of the mom looks-you know the kind-she immediately gives in.
Leah and Seth quickly stand to follow as well.
"At least I won't have to babysit these three on my own." I laugh as we all stumble out the door.
"Hey!" Quil pouts slightly.
"I completely understand. Children can be exhausting." Leah laughs, shaking her hand through Seths hair, he swats her hand away with a look of slight annoyance.
"I haven't seen you in awhile, how's everything been?" I ask her as the boys walk ahead of us.
"You're the one that waited so long to come back." she bumps my shoulder with her own.
"It's been alright," she shrugs "My parents dad have been acting kind of weird lately, they're always whispering with Billy, excusing themselves and asking us to leave the room." she runs her hand through her long dark hair.
"Must be pretty top secret if they really just kicked y'all out." I agree.
"Must be. Anyways, I hear you're dating a Cullen, is it true?" she waggles her eyebrows at me. I look away, trying to hide the blush that creeps up on my face.
"I'll take that as a yes." she laughs.
"A Hale technically but yes. Carlisle Cullen adopted him, his name is Jasper." my heart does a little pitter patter at the thought of him.
"You know, the tribe has legends about them." she says in a hushed tone.
"So I've heard. The boys have mentioned them." I make a mental not to ask Carlisle about the legends sometime, curious to see what went about for a treaty to occur.
"I'm not surprised. They never do keep their mouths shut for long about anything." she laughs.
"Well, maybe Billy would like for me to ask them if they're the same "cold ones" that made the treaty all those years ago." I giggle at the thought.
"Oh, he's not happy that you and your sister are dating them." she notes, the ground begins to turn from a lush, wet, green cover, to a less densely planted dirt.
"Is that so? Good to know that the old man has an opinion on my love life." I roll my eyes playfully, it's just like Billy not only to have the opinion, but to voice it.
"Do you guys have a plan or are we just wandering around?" Leah yells up ahead of us after we notice the boys slowing down.
"Uh..." Quil looks around "we'll get back to you on that."
