A/N
quick question y'all, for those of you in school, are you at that point in the semester where you feel like you've just hit a wall? or is that just me? anywho here's an update for you!Amelia
Alice left only minutes before Charlie left for work, her small frame moving gracefully as she left, waving goodbye.
After sitting in silence for a few minutes, contemplating what I had just been told, I decide to get up and go somewhere.
I grab the keys and a jacket, it was still raining. My brain was swirling with thought after thought. I had more questions now than ever before.
I decide to go to the one place, specifically for certain people, that had always been able to clear my mind. And I was long overdue for a visit. The trip wasn't all that long, though the truck was barely getting up to the speed limit, I could hear the engine push itself harder.
"Hey! Look who's back!" a boy hoots as I drive up to the old house, I stick an arm out my window to wave as I park the truck.
I grin, taking the keys out of the ignition before opening the door. I wasn't even out of the truck before the dark haired boy was beside me.
"Hey Embry!" I laugh as he wraps his arms around me in a bear hug. I see another head of dark hair race over.
"Dude it's been forever!" Embry grins, releasing me once Quil made it over to us.
"You grew like half a foot what the hell!" I laugh, pushing him away, Quil quickly wraps his arms around me, lifting me up off of the ground and spinning me around. "And here I thought you forgot about us." he laughs in my ear.
"Quil Ateara, you put me down!" I squeal, as he continues to spin, making me dizzy. He sets me down, laughing when I stumble. I take in his appearance as well, much like Embry, he had grown at least a half a foot since the last time I saw them.
"It's about time you came to visit! You've been back for awhile." he nudged my shoulder as the three of us walk towards the Black house. "I had to get settled in before I came around causing trouble. Had to give Charlie a chance to catch his breath." I laugh, shoving Embry as we walk in.
"Is that a Swan girl I hear?" a deep voice calls out from the living room. I recognize the voice immediately as Billy Black's, Charlie's best friend, and practically my Uncle.
"Hey Billy." I greet the older man, leaning over to give him a proper hug.
"Been awhile." he smiles, patting my hand as I stand straight up again.
"That it has. I see you're still feeding these idiots." I motion to the two boys who had just stuffed some bacon into their mouths.
"They're here so often I thought they would starve if I didn't feed them." he laughs as the boys step away from the bacon plate, their faces turning a shade of pink.
"So, where's the third musketeer?" I ask, realizing Jacob wasn't in the room.
"I think he's out working on an engine. You know how he gets over those things. Very fussy." his face crinkles as he laughs.
"Thanks, nice to see you Billy." I wave goodbye as I leave, Quil and Embry following with mumbled apologies about the bacon.
Just as Billy said we would, we found Jacob in the back, working on a large piece of what looked like nothing more than a hunk of scrap metal. He was under the car, the music he had playing was so loud that he hadn't heard us approach. A mischievous grin makes its way onto my face when an idea suddenly comes to me.
