"Here you are dear. Your schedule, and all of your text books." the secretary pushes the stack of old worn out books towards me, handing me the freshly printed paper as well. I take it with a smile.
"Great, thank you. What period is it now?" I ask as I put them into my backpack, my eyes search the room for a clock, landing on a dimly lit digital clock behind her.
"Third period is just about over now. You can go ahead and make your way to your fourth period class." she informs me with a smile.
"Thank you." I make my way out of the small office, pulling my jacket a little tighter around myself, the air in the hallway was much colder than the office air. I look down at my paper, having to brush my hair away from my face as I do.
Period 4 | AP Calculus | Mr Sheen | Room 212
This school was minuscule compared to my school in Phoenix, it couldn't be too terribly difficult to find my way. I looked to the office door, assuming there would be a room number. Thankfully the number 100 was hung beside the door and the school is small enough that I couldn't get too lost.
I find the stairs quickly, taking them two at a time, anxious to get there before the halls could begin to crowd. Much to my dismay, the bell rings just as I make my way out of the stairwell. I look down again at my schedule. Room 212.
"Oh my gosh, you must be the new new girl, Bella's sister right?" someone practically squeals from behind me, my head snaps up at the suddenness of the high pitched voice. A girl with plain brown hair and a pink headband makes her way towards me as students begin to file from nearby classrooms.
"Uh yeah, that's me." I pull my lips into a tight smile. Bella said that people would make a big deal, I wished they wouldn't but I suppose that it was inevitable in such a small school. Back home no one would have bat an eye at a new kid, they were all too common.
"I'm Jessica, by the way, I'm a friend of Bella's." she loops her arm through mine, dragging me through the hall. Jessica...I vaguely recall Bella mentioning her name once or twice before.
"Right, Bella's mentioned you. Actually, could you help me find this class." I lift my schedule, pointing to my fourth period class.
"Oh AP Calculus? You must be like totally ahead of us too." she laughs, still leading me to an unknown place. The girl began babbling about how Bella had also known much of the course material being taught.
"I'm a senior." I note, though she doesn't seem to be listening, she was too busy talking about how everyone has been talking about my arrival for the last week.
"So, are you and Bella like twins or something?" she chirps, finally releasing my arm. I want to slap my hand to my face. I haven't known this girl for more than possibly two minutes and already I was growing tired of her.
"Uh no we're just close in age, I'm a senior." I repeat.
"Oh really? That's totally cool!" she looks over my shoulder, waving to a boy.
"Right. So could you just point me in the right direction?" I ask once again, hoping that I can just get to class.
"Oh, your class, right. Yeah it's just down the hall that way." she gestures down towards the slightly more crowded part of the hall.
"Right. Thanks." I turn and make my way down the hall. I breath a sigh of relief when she's too far to hear, not that I truly care if she heard anyways. I don't usually mind people but the girl was clearly feigning friendliness and had no real interest in me. My class was easy to find, it was the second to last on the right side of the hall, just before I made my way in, I hear someone call my name.
