chapter 27: the sleepy hallows

we arrived at another forest, this time the wood was a pale beige, the trees leaves where light grey. we call this place the sleepy hallows, this forest is known for many disappearances survivors of this place said that they where attacked with some kind of mist. after that they said that they felt sleepy. that was many years ago, before the Black dragon, behemoth and leviathan escaped. 

now we know that the defender hivelings have the ability to spray some sleeping mist, the attackers shoot off some crystals that can home in on their prey. this makes a killing combo, making this forest a very dangerous place. 

"do we really have to come back to this place?" Natsuki said as she was shaking uncontrollably. 

"c'mon these hivelings can be very helpful in the war games." Rem replied

"right this time we are looking for ametrine, watermelon tourmaline and malachite." I said

"so are you gonna tell us what It looks like?" Rem asked

"watermelon tourmaline is green and red, ametrine is purple and orange, and malachite is teal, cyan and other colours that are similar to that."

"uhh ok... we'll meet up at that place" Natsuki said as she pointed at a large clearing in the forest.

LATER

we met up and we had a bag containing about 50 crystals.

"what are we waiting for? lets find monsters and throw some crystals at them. we'll meet up here again, make sure you keep some of the crystals too." 

"alright see ya in a tiny bit." Rem replied

after a bit of exploring i see a distant blue glow, it was a phantom. these creatures are about the size of your average human head they are blue in color and have red accents. they float about, looking for their next meal, these creatures have a small body. the majority of its size is its large barbed mandibles. these mandibles are able to snap an arm in two with little to no problem, this makes them a  very dangerous hunter. they also have three tentacle like appendages, the use for these things are unknown but it is theorized that they are used to help with flight.

as i walked closer to it, it started to float towards me. 

"uhh... hey there?" i trued to use creature talk but there was no reply "shoot you cant even vocalize can you?"

suddenly there was a reply it was seemed to be a woman's voice, it seemed to come from my mind"does this person really think that we can talk, this dude is an idiot" 

"excuse me i am not an idiot!" the phantom reflexively shot back 

"y-you can hear what im thinking?" the phantom starts to fly back to me

"i-i guess i can" i replied

"hmmm, you've piqued my interest. you may throw that crystal at me"

"i guess i can" i say as i threw the crystal at the phantom, it disappeared in a puff of smoke "that... that was interesting"

after a little more exploring i find a hive, i instantly throw a blood stone at the hive. "3 more left to get" i muttered

TWO HIVES LATER

I got two more hives and put them in a blood stone and a dungeon crystal.  after a little more exploring i find a megapede. these creatures (like their names say) are giant centipedes, these creatures are about as long as a the silver back.  they are pretty much centipedes, their venomous fangs have a poison that can paralyze you.these creatures are white in color and have two hooks at the base of their tails.

seeing this creature i instinctively throw a crystal at the centipede. then i start to make my way to the large clearing in the forest and wait. 

LATER

Rem and Natsuki returned with a hand full of crystals.

"did you get anything?"

"i got two hives, a eurypterid" Rem said as she gave me three crystals

"well i got a hive mimic" Natsuki said as she gave me one crystal

"nice, by the way Natsuki where you just too nervous to walk around here alone. i saw you walk around this place, just waiting for us."

"*unintelligible mumbling*"  

AT THE THIRD LOCATION

"uhh, i-its gone" Natsuki said

"yeah i know" i replied

"wait i can sense traces of magic here, look over there there is a fire over there" Rem pointed at a fire in the distance.

we all ran over to put it out. after the fire was out, we decided that we where done for the day so we started to make our way back home.

"wait why did we just leave her alone back at home!? didn't i tell you how i felt about her" i yelled as i summoned two shields. "hurry up get in" i say as i tie a rope around the two shields.

i stay to speed up, only to find that Rem and Natsuki has flown out of the shield. i run back to get them up, into the shields. 

Rem points at something "uhh Acro there are a extra pair of shields there."

"well aint that perfect" i say as i stack the shields on top of each other.

we made it back to the town of calamity in record time, too see that Natsuki's house was trashed. i pull out my katar and start to explore the house. "you two stay there im going to see if someone is still there"

i started to make my way to the bedrooms. Natsuki's and Rems's bedrooms where just fine, it was like it was never touched. however when i got to my room, it was trashed and i found my mom looking through my stuff. i fired an ice shot in her direction, getting her attention.

"hey hey" i said in a sadistic voice

"oh uhh hey" she replied

the room stated to get colder, the sky grew grey as it started to snow. "what are you doing?"

"n-nothing i just lost an earring" she replied

"oh for god sake, if your trying to look for my money stash, it aint in this house"

"w-what!?"

"now get out before i freeze you in place and throw you off a cliff"

she instinctively ran out of the house. i walk out of the house to see Rem and Natsuki shivering.

"alright come in, our robber has ran away"

this is gonna be a long night cleaning this up.
