Chapter 50: The Battle For Artemis

'Everything will be fine if you let me take over again Acro'

"Hey Acro, are you okay?" Bell tapped Acro's shoulder. Acro was broken out of his thoughts and looked at the remains of the Artemis familia.

"Yeah, I'm just fine." He replied as he wiped a tear away from his cheek. "What's done is done." He stated with little to no emotion in his voice. "So, why are there two of you?"

"I...I'm what's left of Artemis that wasn't devoured by Antares." She replied. "The spear's name is Orion. It means 'they who can pierce' in the gods language. Ako, your sword's name is called Surtr. As you know, it is a legendary sword that is able to destroy the world in a burst of flames. All you need to do is to inject your mana into the sword. Don't use it unless the situation gets very dire."

"Surtr, eh?" Acro stated in that same emotionless tone. He bent over to pick up Coco's tattered Crimson colored scarf and put it on. He then walked over to Rethusa and picked up her pendant which had the Artemis familia symbol on it. He then walked over to Lante and picked up her bracelet and put it on.

"C'mon, Antares just stopped moving. It wont be too long untill it starts to attack again. A monster with an Arcanum is a walking calamity that can destroy this world."

"What do we do with these weapons?" Bell enquired as he took out the spear called Orion.

"If we want to kill Antares, we must hit it with Orion. Surtr is a last ditch effort if everything goes wrong."

"Why? Why did you choose me!?" Bell exclaimed.

*CRASH*

Antares came crashing through the walls, and just like that, they were face to face with Antares.

"Arrow of Orion." Instead of a magical bow appearing, there was nothing. Acro started to chat, there was also nothing from the blackhole blast. 

Antares moved in to attack us.

"Damn it!" Bell threw the spear right onto the ground and pulled out the Hestia knife and began to charge at the monster. Just as he jumped onto Antares, he began to slash at Antares exoskeleton but was futile. With just a simple flick of one of Antares limbs, it sent Bell flying into the opposite direction.

Acro looked over a Artemis. "Ako, don't."

Acro didn't even hesitate to attack Antares, he shot many magical bolts, but just like Bell's attempts at hurting Antares, it was completely ineffective. And just like that, both Acro and Bell were knocked back down.

"Bell, go in between the exoskeleton." Acro said as he got up and ran full speed at Antares. 

Bell also ran to Antares and impaled its right claw while Acro impaled the other claw with his katar.

"Flare/Chaos bolt!" 

Both of Antares claws where utterly obliterated. However, both of the claws grew back and just like their last attempt, they were sent flying back into another wall.

Antares opened up its appendage that contained the other Artemis that was inside the gem. The gem glowed a bright blue and after a few seconds of glowing a bright blue beam shot out right at Acro and Bell. 

Before the beam could hit them, Artemis blocked the beam. Jus as if she was not a real person, she started to disappear into a yellow light. 

Then nothing. No beam. No Artemis standing in front of Acro and Bell.

"ARTEMIS!!" Hestia's voice rung out from a hallway.

Hestia was then followed by everyone else. Bell was staring at were the Artemis he knew was before she disappeared, there were tears starting to well up in his eyes. Acro however, stood up and wiped his tears away and looked at Antares.

"Everyone, we're going to kill that thing." Acro stated in that same monotone voice.

"Don't worry, we'll kill that thing." Asif's boots sprouted wings and she charged at Antares with Ryuu. 

Before they could even reach Antares, it fired off a purple beam that destroyed everything that it touched. Once the beam disappeared, it started to flail all of its limbs to stop all of the attacks that it was sustaining.

Amidst the chaos, both Asfi and Ryuu were knocked down. Lili and Welf took this opportunity to  deal some damage to the giant monster.

"Can you both hold that thing off for a bit?" Acro asked.

"We might be able to hold it off for a bit." Welf replied.

"When I give you the signal, you run. If you don't run, you'll be majorly injured. Got it." 

"Got it." Lili said as she aimed her arm ballista at Antares.

"I call upon the power of the seven seas to destroy a formidable foe, rip them apart with the power seven typhoons. Come forth, Subsuming typhoon!" From right under Antares a tornado of water began to well up. "Now!!" 

After a few seconds, Antares was completely submerged in the vortex. There was nothing, everything went silent. 

"Please save Artemis!!" Hestia pleaded as she handed him Orion.
