Chapter 38: Familia Files

"Umm grey ghost, are you going to teach me?" When Saki said this it brought me back to reality.

"Oh umm yeah. We're gonna head into the nearby forest." 

As we where heading out into the forest I saw Bell, Lili and Welf sweeping the streets.

I walked up to them and said "I take it that you all got in trouble."

"Maybe." Bell stated 

I sighed "Don't worry Bell you'll live. Welp I gotta go, see ya Bell." 

"Bye Acro."

"Bye Little Rookie."

When we arrived at a clearing in the forest I got my tail back out and went to the center of the clearing with Saki.

"Could you show me if you can do blaze?"

"Umm okay...Blaze" A decently sized flame appeared in her hand

"Hmm" I started to inspect the flame. "Detect" when I said this I saw that there was lots of mana flowing out of the palm of her hand.

I decided to cast my own Blaze and I began to compare the two flames. "Your flame lets out more mana that hasn't fully materialized as the flame. With a little more training that excess mana can make the flame explode on impact." I summoned four shields "Try firing at those."

Saki aimed her hand at one of the shields and the flame went flying into the shield and instead of an explosion the flame simply left a small burn on the shield. 

"Why wasn't there an explosion!?" Saki exclaimed 

"Don't worry it takes a lot of practice to do that. Do you want to try something that's a little easier?" 

"Can we keep it in the realm of fire magic?" 

"...How about trying Ricochet Flame?" Then it hit me "Aren't you supposed to be at school?"

"W-What are you talking about?" Saki tried to avoid eye contact as she said that.

I got onto one of my shields and then I pulled her onto the shield and asked "Where's your school?"

"I don't know." 

"If you don't tell me, you wont get any training from me."

"Fine, it should be near the guild."

LATER

When we arrived at the guild, I hid my tail and got off the shield and Saki jumped out of another shield and she started to show me the way to her school. When we got to the front gate I saw Aki and everyone in her class doing some sports.

"Hey everyone, wanna see who I found?" I shouted.

Aki went to face my direction "Oh hey Acro. Who'd you find?"

"I found Saki."

"Saki! Where have you been? You're coming with me young lady." Miss Uruka started to drag Saki back into the school building. 

"Well wat that the only reason that you came here?" Aki asked.

"Yeah pretty much." I started to walk away back into the city.

When I arrived back into the Hestia mansion, there where some people interviewing Hestia.

"So goddess Hestia, can you tell us anything you know about the Little Rookie's growth?"

"I really have no idea." Hestia replied

"Well how about the grey ghost? We know next to nothing about him. So could you tell us about his power and what he's like when he is not at the dungeon?" The interviewer asked.

"Well recently he is a really closed book, you have to really force it out of him if you want something from him. I also know that Artemis took care of him when he was a kid. If you want to know about him, then you should probably ask Rem and Natsuki about him, they've known him longer that anyone else in this." 

"Okay then, could you show me where they are?"

"Just check the main hall." I said from the other side of the hall.

"Why don't I ask you?" She replied

"You heard what Hestia said. If you do have any questions to ask me, just keep in mind that I may not answer all of your questions." 

"Okay then, I'll keep that in mind." She started to walk to the main hall of the building.

I went over to Hestia and asked "Care to explain what's happening?"

"Ya ever heard of the Familia Files and the What If series?"

"So I take it that she is the author of the famous Familia Files and the What If series." 

"Yeah, Tohru Chosa is the author of those books and the Hestia familia is gonna be the next familia that is going to be in the series." Hestia gave me a grin.

"Geeze if only I was that carefree." I patted Hestia on the head.

"Hey! Why are you patting me on the head!?" Hestia exclaimed.

I chuckled "You still gotta give me something in return for using me as your personal body pillow." 

"Man when was the last time I saw  you act like this?" Hestia muttered.

AT THE MAIN HALL

"Excuse me, are you Miss Kuroneko?"

"Yes. Is there anything you need?" Rem replied

"I've got a few questions about the Grey Ghost that I want to ask you about."

"Lemme guess, he lead you to us because he refused to tell you?" 

"pretty much." Tohru replied "So anyways, with the first question: Why did he become an adventurer?" 

"We don't know, he's never told us and we've also asked Eina about that too but she said that he gave some vague answers. Natsuki might have an idea about why he became one because she had something to do with him coming here."

Tohru began writing down in her notebook. "I'll keep that in mind...So anyway for another question: What is he like back where you all lived?" 

"He was a very lazy person but he be very productive if he puts his mind to it and/or if he want to do it. I guess you can say that becoming an adventurer made him more productive and gave him something to do." 

"Well that's the first thing that I have heard something new about the Grey Ghost."

A/N: Its been a long break between arks but Lets hope we can get the Ishtar ark started. That's all I have to say for now.
