chapter 55: Pain

"Checkmate..."

Before any of us could react, the sound of flesh being cut right open rung out through the whole district. 

I felt a searing pain come from my stomach, as I reached down to check the wound I felt that my whole bottom half of my abdomen was cut clean open.

"Acro!" Coco shouted as she too was hit with the same blade that cut me open.

"Damn it." I muttered as I pulled out my tail to apply pressure to the wound that was jus inflicted. I walked over to Coco who was already out cold and used her scarf to apply some pressure to her wounds.

'Aww, now that's just sad. You didn't end up using your own scarf to deal with that." 

"And?" I said as I picked up my bloodstone dagger.

"Nothing, its just that...You decided to saver her but not me." Kaede said as she got into a fighting position.

"You don't have to fight us. We'll accept you back with open arms." 

"No!! You already lost your chance. You didn't even bother to save my home in that forest. Remember, before the war games." 

The memories of Me, Rem and Natsuki going from the sleepy hallows to bloated forest. 

"When it burned down, there was somebody there at the fire. Was that you?"

"Yes, when you showed up, you just left as soon as you saw that it was burned down. I was ready to give you a second chance. But the you never came back." 

And just like that, Kaede was gone. She disappeared into the night. I was left in the middle of the district, the only thing that I could hear was my thoughts. As I sat there, somebody grabbed my shoulder.

"Hey Nyacro. Are you okay?" Arnya said in a comforting voice. At least it would of been comforting if these events didn't just happened.

"I'm fine. I...I've gotta go. I'll pay for the damages later." I said as I summoned a shield and flew off to the Hestia mansion.

The pain in my stomach grew tenfold, the adrenaline that was being pumped through my body had nullified most of the pain that came from my slit stomach. When I finally arrived at the Hestia mansion, I didn't even have the strength to stand up. I used the last of my strength to summon a tentacle and kick the door open. 

Then, nothing. I saw nothing for what had seemed like an eternity. As I searched my way through the endless void, I saw the memories of my childhood. Everything from After Kaede's alleged death all the way up to me joining the Hestia Familia.

Then there was a light and as I tried to reach the light, I began to regain consciousness. As I opened my eyes, I was back in my room. Hestia was sitting at the side of my bed, she was fast asleep. When I tried to get up, that same pain from the gash on my stomach came back to me.

In Hestia's hands were four pages. There was Coco, Rem, Natsuki and My status in her hands. I fought through the pain to get up and pick up all three pages.
