Chapter 73: The Surface

NATSUKI POV

"Argh, why did he have to just leave us!?" I exclaimed in anger. 

After Acro had rudely left us alone, we all set off along with Aoi who was in her human form to Daedalus street. Why? I dunno.

"Shush, he'll be fine. He's stronger that all of us. Acro can manage things on his own." Lili replied.

"Can I at least know why we're he-"

*BOOM*

A huge pillar of smoke rose up from the rooftops which was soon followed by a sea of running civilians. We wasted no time in getting to where the explosion originated from. The closer we got to the explosion, the less people we saw. Whatever this was, they certainly weren't here to play and have a chat.

When we reached the origin of the explosion, we saw a very unexpected sight. It was Weine but she looked different. She was bigger, her claws had grown back and her legs had been replaced with a snakes tail.

"G-Guys, that's Weine." Rem said shakily.

Rem's words brought Weine's attention to us and she lunged right at us. Everyone except for Haruhime managed to get out of the way. She was stuck there like a deer in headlights as Weine came closer and closer to impaling her with her claws. 

"Get back Weine!" Yet another unexpected sight showed up. It was Bell.

He had his knife's blade intertwined with Weine's claws. Realizing that she had been blocked, Weine reared back for another attack.

*BANG*

Weine was sent flying back into a wall by something that moved so fast that it looked like it wasn't even there. What soon followed after was a golden spear that was aimed right at where Weine just was.

When the dust cleared, we got to see whoever had kicked Weine away. "Jesus Christ! That was going to hit me!" It was Acro. Right after he said that, he stumbled out of the rubble.

However, the surprises just kept on coming because the ones who sent the spear was none other than the Loki familia. They were standing atop a building as the looked down at the scene that was currently happening.

Bell used this opportunity to stand in between Weine and the adventurers, blocking anyone from getting close to her. "This is my catch! Nobody touch this Vouivre because she is my catch!" Bell announced.

"Geez, Bell and Acro are so crazy sometimes." I sighed.

"What should we do?" Haruna enquired.

"Just wait for now. It'll be suspicious if the entire Hestia familia shows up as well." Aoi replied while she kept her eyes on Weine.

*Crash*

Weine had slither off into the endless pathway of Daedalus street as Bell was making his speech. Bell soon followed after Weine, meanwhile Acro warped away into an unknow location. 

"So, what's our plan now?" 

"Gyah! What the hell Acro!"Acro had apparently warped right behind me to regroup with everyone.

"Shh, now's not the time to freak out. Something feels off." Aoi said as she lightly stroked her chin.

*ROAR*

As if it was on cue, in the same hole that Weine had climbed out of, came out a gargoyle who was soon followed by a few more very familiar monsters. It was in fact the rest of the Xenos who had just rushed out of this one hole in the wall.

The Loki famila however, wasted no time in dealing with the monsters. Left and right, Xenos were taken out. But were not killed for some reason. Not too long after, a large golem like monster appeared in the middle of the chaos and brought the attention of all of the Loki familia members to it. Long story short, the golem didn't really end up doing much to stopping them because the just simply turned it into a pile of rubble.

*ROAAARRR*

Yet another roar emanated from the hole in the wall. But this was different from the others. It had this power behind it along with the amount of bloodlust that soon followed after. from within the wall came powerful footsteps that reverberated through the walls. From the darkness came a black minotaur with red horns and wielded two axes.  

As it made its way to the middle of the district in front of the Loki familia it stopped. And let out one powerful roar that rumbled the whole district and those who were weaker would drop to the floor out cold just from the sheer power from this single roar, this included both Haruhime and Lili. 

This minotaur was something different. It was something that was on a completely different level from anything that we have ever seen.
