chapter 34: School

"What"

"Why are you acting so surprised?" Aki asked

"I just wasn't expecting you to come back so soon." I replied.

"Hey hey are you really Aki's big brother?" One of Aki's supposed classmates asked

"Umm, yeah." I replied awkwardly.

Aki grabs her classmate and started to whisper loudly "What did I say about first impressions?"

I went over to tap Aki's shoulder "Umm... Aki what kind of impression do you even have of me?" 

"Well from what I saw, you seemed to be the no nonsense type of person."

"Do you remember how dire our situation was, of course I would be like that." I turn back to Aki's class "So are you all Aki's class?"

"Yes, this would be Akashiro's class, I am their homeroom teacher. You can call me Miss Uruka, we have informed your Goddess on our arrival."

"*Exhale* Of course she didn't tell me" I muttered to myself. "Anyways I guess I will occupy you guys while we get Hestia over."

I started to look around and I saw a familiar monster from the sleepy hallows, It was my phantom. Since I didn't want to call them by their monster name, so I decided to give them their own name.

"Hey Aoi, could you come over here."

"What do you want?" She replied

"Give this note to Hestia, her guest are here." I gave her a piece of paper.

"Fine." Aoi said as she went off to inform Hestia about our visitors.

I looked back to Aki's class to see that they where staring at me like I was a mad man.

"That was one of my skills, it allows me to talk to animals and creatures and understand what they are saying." I said as I tried to defuse the awkwardness 'Who wants to ask me some questions that any of you have? Also, tell me your name so its easier for me to talk to you all."

Almost instantly a hand shot up. I pointed at the boy and said "Yes?"

"My name is Owen, and my question is  do you know how the Little Rookie Levels up so fast?"

"To be honest... I do know how but Hestia would kill me if I told you all. Sorry that I couldn't answer your question Owen but that question's answer is confidential. As far as I know Hestia and me are the only ones that know the answer to that." I replied

After that many hands went up. I looked around for a bit and I said "Umm, you in the black hoodie."

The girl looked up and took her hood off, revealing her violet colored hair "M-my name is Saki. Umm how can you become so strong?"

"Hmm... good question. Well, one main thing is that you don't have to be physically strong to level up or be able to beat your opponents. Strategy is an important component in combat, if you go into a fight with no plan, you will become easy to predict. In life or death situations you gotta think fast, one wrong move could be the deciding factor between life or death." 

"C-can I ask you one more question?" Saki asked.

"Sure"

"Could you teach us how to do some basic elemental magic?"

"I'll see if I can" I muttered to myself "Who want a lesson in basic magic?"

Everyone's hands went up, even Miss Uruka seemed interested.

"Alright, I haven't done this in a while, so bare with me." I take a breath "Flare." A small flame started to emit from my hand, I let it grow untill it was of a suitable size.

"Wow." Some of the kids said

"Now this one of the most basic of basic spells. since I am terrible at explaining stuff I will show you how it feels like. Miss Uruka, I'll show you first." I placed my hand on her shoulder "Just hold out your hand." When she held out her hand I started to transfer some of my mana into her, then a flame started to emit from her hand. "I know that at your current state you can control your mana. Just envision what you want to create with your mana."

"Lets see if I can do that." She closed her eyes to concentrate, after a bit there was a flame appearing in her palm. 

"There you go. you got it, just make sure that you don't get too distracted when chanting. that can cause it to implode on itself."

"How do you shoot the fire in a certain direction?"

"You can just throw it as if you where throwing a ball, the fire ball should just fly in the general direction of where you swung your arm. How about you practice that and I will see what you need to improve on. Juts make sure you don't send them flying around." I replied

"How am I gonna show them how to do it?" I muttered. A blue aura emanated around me. suddenly everyone had a flame on their palms. "Umm, just try to replicate that feeling." I say as the aura dissipated.

After a bit Everyone was trying to use flare. 

LATER

"Ughh why cant we learn the first tier of fire magic!?"

"Owen, you will need more control of your mana if you want to do spark."

"Ahh I'm sorry that I'm late." We see Hestia running down the courtyard.

"Where where you?" I asked

"I uhh ahmm I was working." She replied awkwardly

"And this is why you shouldn't take naps so often." I sighed "Welp, I gotta go. You can come back when you have gotten a grasp on flare." I say as I walked out of the gates of the mansion.

After a bit of walking, I arrived at my destination.
