Chapter 36: the past (part 1)

"I'm sorry sir, but may I ask you to leave the building."

The drunken adventurer went in to punch me. As his fist connected with my face it sent my flying into a nearby table. As soon as the loud crash echoed through the tavern, it was dead silent. 

I got off of the remnants of the table. "Is that how you want to be." I said with an eerie tone.

The adventurers friends got up and got ready to fight along with their drunken colleague. The first adventurer pulled out their scimitar and went in to slash my stomach open. I swiftly dodged the incoming blade and swiftly hit him in the side of the head, knocking him out cold.

"You bastard!" One of the adventurers friends shouted

"Don't worry. He's just knocked out." I replied calmly 

That same adventurer grabbed his mace and went in to smash my head in. The third adventurer went in and tried to stab me in the back with his dagger. 

"Fear." 

Both adventurers dropped their weapons. They where both trembling with fear, they couldn't move due to the amount of fear that they where experiencing.

"Crushing Gravity."

The Gravity around the adventurers increased at a very quick rate. Within a minute they where stuck to the floor.

"If you leave now I will decrease the force of gravity on you both." I said as I continued to increase the gravity.

"F-Fine, we'll leave."

The two adventurers picked up their friend and ran out of the tavern.

"Mia, don't go after them. I think that they have learned their lesson."

"Well then, Ako you can go now. That's your reward for not making that much of a mess." Mia said from the other side of the tavern.

"Yes Ma'am! Well everyone, this is goodbye."

As I walked back into the changing room and closed the door I let out a sigh of relief. 

"That was not fun, I even had to use some of those learnable spells." 

After I got changed I warped onto the roof of the Hostess Of Fertility and started to traverse the roofs untill I arrived at the Hestia mansion. When I got there Mikoto was jumping the fence of the mansion followed by Bell, Lili and Welf. 

I casually walked down and told Bell "Tell me what happens when you get back."

I went and warped to the other side of the fence and went into the mansion. 

As I was roaming the halls I found Hestia alone at the dinner table. "Oh my gosh there you are Acro. Where have you been?" 

"Lets see...I got lost in a forest, ran into an Oni, the same Oni guided me to a Oni village. Then I was shown the way out of the forest. After that I worked at the Hostess Of Fertility for a few hours, then I ended up here." I replied as I took a seat and started to eat.

"hey Acro, What is Artemis like these days?" 

"Hmm? Why ask?" 

"Because around sixteen years ago she suddenly allowed men to join her familia and coincidently you are also sixteen. So I want to know what happened." Hestia replied

"Where do I start?" I muttered "So it all started when."

APROXIMATELY 16 YEARS AGO

It was a stormy night and Artemis and the Artemis Familia captain Rethusa where walking around a forest. 

"Artemis, you're seeing what I'm seeing, right." Rethusa asked.

"Is that a baby? Who thought it was a good idea to leave a baby out in this weather!" Artemis exclaimed.

"Wait, there is a note." Rethusa picked up a piece of paper that was sitting in the basket that the baby was laying down in.

The note said 

Hello! My name is: Acro yang

My birthday is: April 4th

I am a: Boy

Please take care of me! I need a new family.

"What should we do?" Rethusa asked

"Well we can't just leave a baby out in the forest like this. Even if he is a boy, I wouldn't forgive myself if I left him out here." Artemis poked the Acro's face. when he woke up and when he saw Artemis he raised his arms.

"Well I think there's your answer." Rethusa said 

When they arrived at the inn that they where currently staying at, Artemis put Acro down on her bed and looked at Rethusa.

"This may be our only chance to see if Men can be good people if they are taught correctly." She went over and sat next to Acro. "This would mean that you have to take care of him. That includes changing diapers, making sure he doesn't cry too much and feeding him. As of right now breastfeeding would be the best thing for a baby of this age."

"F-Fine. If that is what I must do." Artemis intended to give off a serious demeanor  but was unable to hide her embarrassment.

"Artemis, do you know about a species of demi-human that has the features of a snake?" Rethusa pointed at Acro's tail.

"Hmm. nope, I've never seen a demi-human with those features."

5 YEARS LATER

"Auntie Ruth?" 

"Yes? What is it Acro?" Rethusa replied.

"I wanna show you something!" acro said happily.

"What do you want to show me?"

"Blaze." Right after Acro said this, a blue flame sprouted from his hand. Unlike the spirit flame that had the color of the hottest flame but moved like an orange flame, while the one that Acro manifested acted much more like how a blue flame would.

"Umm hey Acro could you come with me for a sec." 

Rethusa and Acro both arrived at Artemis's office. 

"Artemis, I have something to show you." Rethusa says as she opens the door to her office. 

"Hi mom!" 

"Hey Acro. So what did you want to show me?"

Rethusa got down on one knee. "Acro, could you do what you showed be earlier?" 

"Blaze" That same blue flame emerged from his hand.

"How in the world do you know how to cast third tier magic!?"
