Chapter 47: The Ruin Of Elis

We finally arrived at our destination, The Ruin Of Elis. Before we could say anything, we were bombarded by a bunch of magical projectiles.

We were all shot down by these magical shots and when I looked around at the surrounding area,. I saw that the surrounding area was utterly destroyed by these magical blasts.

"Hey, are you all okay?" Aki asked as she went to check on the dragon.

"Yeah we're fine, but he's hurt." Lili pointed a her dragon that had a blotch of blood on its body.

I walked over to the injured dragon and looked at it. "I can't heal this." 

Then a very familiar sound rung out through the surrounding area. Around us where those scorpion-like monsters but they where different, they seemed bigger and had a different body shape.

"I think they're after your Sabre and Spear." Artemis said.

As the monsters closed in on us, we were all back to back. We were running out of options to do.

"Luminous Wind!" A burst of green energy came flying down on the monsters, which ended up killing them.

When the dust cleared, we saw someone in a green cloak. "are you okay?"

Upon hearing this voice, I instantly knew who it was. "Ryuu?"

"Acro? I didn't expect to see you in a place like this."

"Why are you here?" I replied.

"I was asked to accompany them for a quest." Ryuu took a step back, revealing the Hermes familia. "They're also with me."

As I looked over at Asfi, I instantly saw her furious expression. "Hermes."

"H-Hey. Asfi. Good to see ya." Hermes replied in a terrified tone.

"You absolute blockhead! You went back to Orario, leaving us all behind at this ruin!"

"R-Relax Asfi, I needed to find find the chosen hero for the sword and spear."

"Well that doesn't justify your actions!" Asfi picked up Hermes up from his collar.

"Relax Asfi, just think of it like this. Hermes trusted you, he knew that you were strong enough to hold down the fort." 

"Fine, I'll let yo off just this once." Asfi let Hermes go. "So I take it that you and Bell are the chosen ones? I expected someone from a stronger familia."

"I'll have you know that I have defeated the Goliath singlehandedly. And there's also the time I beat Phryne Jamil who is a Level five single handedly and fun fact, I didn't have this sword that can destroy a mountain in one swing when I beat them." I retorted in a matter of fact tone.

Asfi sighed. "Yes, I am aware of that."

"So, what's the status." Hermes asked.

"It's getting worse. The decay in the forest is rising and the monsters numbers just keep rising."

"And how about the strike plans?"

"Every plan ended in failure before the gates." 

"A gate?" Aki wondered aloud.

"Yes, it's blocking our path to Antares." Artemis replied.

"Why can't you open it?" I asked.

"We can't"

And just like that, we headed to their camp.

"Hey, Grey Ghost." 

"Hey, Lulune. Long time no see." I replied.

"Yeah, it has been a while since we last talked. By the way, congrats on winning the war games."

"Thanks."

"Oh yeah, there's a spring just down there. You can go ahead and bathe in it."

"I'll take you up on that offer." I said as I began to walk off into the forest to look for the spring.

After a bit of searching, I found a secluded part of the spring that was away from where everyone was bathing. 

Before I fully dipped into the water, I used my tail to test the temperature of the water. Right as the tip of my tail touched the water, I felt a huge wave of warmness overcome my whole body.

"This is the good stuff." I muttered as I got down into the spring.

"Acro?" I looked back to see Artemis in her towel and dip into the water.

"So, why are you here of all places?"

"I should be asking you this question because I always bate in his spot." Artemis retorted. "So, how's the tail? I heard that you finally showed your Familia your tail, how'd they react?"

"If I'm bein completely honest, they took it really well. They didn't really make a big fuss about it and now I feel comfortable enough to leave it out.

"See, I told you that you'd be fine." Artemis grabbed my tail and began to hug my tail. "Oh, what about that powered up kick that Ruth taught you coming along?" 

"U-Umm. Can you let go of my tail first. It's sensitive." I somehow managed to wriggle my tail out of Artemis's grasps. "It's been going just fine. My tail doesn't hurt as much as it did whenever I tried to do it before."

"That's good to know... Can you still use the Arrow Of Orion?"

I manifested Artemis's bow and presented it to her. "Look for yourself." 

"You kids grow up too much, I still remember that day when I found you." Artemis chuckled. "Who knew that it would end up like this."

"Welp, you never know. Anything could happen. I mean Hestia must of told you about the enchantment by now right?" 

"Yeah, it was honestly really surprising when I first heard about it. But then I remembered that it was you that we're talking about."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means that your special."

I got up from the spring. "I think that's enough of that for me." 

LATER

When everyone got out of the springs, we where all filled in on what we were facing off against and then we all got ready to head into the ruins. We arrived at that gate that Asfi mentioned earlier. A large stone gate and right where the gates connected, there was a depiction of Artemis's familia symbol.

"Here goes nothing." Welf stated.

"Antares is right behind this gate."

Artemis walked up to the gate and pressed her hand onto her familia crest and injected a bit of her divine energy into the symbol, a small glow emitted from Artemis and the symbol. After a few seconds the gate opened.

the walls seemed fleshy, there were sacks hanging from the roof. It seemed like w where about to walk into some kind of giant monster.

"What the heck is this?" Aki said.

"It's infesting the temple."

A/N: The next chapter might be a flashback chapter but I haven't decided if I want to do that or not.
