Chapter 65: Xenos

"Allow me to introduce myself, I am Fels. I serve as a gateway of contact between Ouranos and the Xenos." The hooded figure held out a small blue orb that glowed in the light. "I was tasked with observing your behavior including the dragon girl."

Hearing this instantly gave me ideas because if he was observing me, then he must know something about Kaede.

"Fels has eyes everywhere." Lyd took out a yellow orb of his own. "Because of these things, we can get in touch anywhere."

Then Lili spoke up. "Hey master Fels, Does that mean you re a monster too?"

"Nope, Fels is 100% human." Lyd replied.

"Well...Formerly human to be precise. Allow me to show you." Fels began to take off his hood. Underneath the hood was a just a skull. From what I could tell, he was just a skeleton.

"Well that's certainly interesting." I stated.

After this revelation, I kinda just zoned out and thought about what kind of things that Fels knows about Kaede and her situation. 

"I just need to find out more about Kaede. I need to ask him about it." I muttered."

"Hey Acro, are you even paying attention?" Natsuki shook me out of my thoughts.

"Sure."

"The hell's that supposed to mean? Anyway, did you hear what Lyd said."

"Umm...Maybe."

"Oh my gosh I'm actually gonna...I'm going to take that as a no." Natsuki seemed very done with my little mind game.

"Yes." 

"Oh my-"

"Okay okay I'll stop." I stopped Natsuki from potentially breaking my nose by grabbing hold of her arms. "So what is it?"

"Turns out that there is another Xeno around here."

"Xeno?"

"Right, you were talking to Ray when that happened. That's that these talking monsters call each other as a group." 

"Okay, So what's up with this other Xeno?"

"Apparently, he's much stronger than Lyd. And Lyd is apparently the second strongest Xeno here."

"You do realize that I don't actually know how strong Lyd is. Right?"

"Yeah, of course I know that. I wanna see how strong Lyd really is to see how strong this other Xeno could be." 

"So you want me to fight Lyd?"

"Yup."

"Okay, Fine I'll do that. I don't know why you cant fight Lys yourself. But in return, you have to tell me everything you know about the Xenos."

"Why do you need to know that?" She replied, completely ignoring my question.

"Because, I wanna know if there a connection between them and Aoi."

"Well okay then." Natsuki sat down and I soon followed after. "Every Xeno has a strong desire for something. I may be that they want to be able to embrace everyone they care about. But they all have one thing in common. It's that they all want to get out of this dungeon and be able to live on the surface. There is another thing that they told us, they have distant memories of the surface and of adventurers in the dungeon but they know that they have never come in contact with the surface or those adventurers. Lyd says that in maybe in a past life, he has had these memories. He also says that the Xenos that can talk, learns how to talk almost instantly. It was as if they were able to remember something from the distant past."
