dear future husband,

can't. stop. smiling.

today, jonah came over to the town i live in, and we decided to go to the beach with all my friends. we all relaxed and had fun, knowing that everyone was going back to school soon.

daniel and olivia brought fairity, who was now three years old. jonah was so amazing with her. since he has two younger sisters, he knew exactly how to play with her and keep her happy. he said he wishes his baby sister wouldn't grow up so fast, and that she would stay little forever.

after a few hours of swimming and playing in the sand, everyone decided it was time to head home. fairity was fussy, and the other couples wanted to spend more time together before they were separated.

after they left, jonah and i decided to go to the ice cream shop. the sun was beginning to set, and all the little shops in the small beach town were staring to turn on their lights.

after we got our ice cream that jonah insisted on paying for, we hurried back to the sand so we could catch the sunset. we sat in a comfortable silence, simply enjoying the freezing treats in our hands and each other's company. i shivered slightly and he pulled me close to him, wrapping his arm around me. i smiled at the gesture.

after the sun had completely set and the stars came out, people started clearing the beach. jonah and i stayed right where we were, savouring the moment we were sharing. i was lost in my thoughts, when jonah caught my attention.

"i think i need to get you home"

that's what he whispered to me, almost as if he was afraid of destroying the peace. i nodded, and he started getting up, before hesitating and sitting back down beside me.

he said he had something for me, and then pulled a necklace out of his pocket.

he held a dainty gold chain between his fingers, and hanging down was a charm. a simple gold oval that had a mustard tree engraved in it. i thanked him, but asked why there was a mustard tree.

"have you ever read the parable of the mustard seed?"

i nodded.

"you remind me of a mustard seed. small and timid, but when you open up you have the most amazing personality and a big heart. i love that about you."

i smiled, and a slight giggle left my lips. nobody has ever said such a lovely thing about me before. i looked back up to thank him, but was cut short when i felt a pair of soft lips on my own.

and it was my first time kissing a boy who wasn't jack.

my hands were in his hair, and his were wrapped around my waist.

and then it was over again.

my lips chased his as he pulled away for a moment, only to ask a question.

"wanna be my boyfriend?"

i'm finally yours.

you make me so happy.
