(Y/N)'s POV

“Ashe stop setting me up on a blind date.” I said to Ashe, one of my best friends “You've set me up to five guys already for a month now and none of them called me back. Don't you think it's a sign that we should give up.”

I was in a middle of cleaning my room when Ashe called me. She's been setting me up a blind date because she wanted me to be settled.

“(Y/N), we are not giving up.” She said “I have a feeling this one will clique.”

“That's what you always say.” I said while playfully rolling my eyes

“Don't roll your eyes on me, sister.” She sternly said making me giggle

She knows me too well.

“Okay fine. If this one didn't call me back, I swear to God I'm not going on any blind dates or any type of relationships. I'm going to be happily single with my dog.” I said

“Girl, you don't have a dog.” She said

“I'll get one soon.” I said

“Whatever. I'll send you the number right now.”

“Why are you sending his number to me? Isn't that too forward or something?” I confusely said

“Apparently he's not in town. He's like miles away from us, so he'll FaceTime, text or call you once you texted him.” She explained

“Wait, is this person you're setting me up with is legit? What if he's lying about his identity or something. Or worst he's a hacker.” I panickly said

“Calm down, (Y/N). He's a close friend of mine. If he played you, he's dead to me.” She said “So, I'll send you his number. Call me and let me know how it went okay?”

“Okay.” I nodded

“Just in case, don't forget to thank me on your wedding day.”

“Ashe!”

“Bye! Love you.” She quickly said before hanging up

After the call, she sent me the number of the guy. I'm in the verge of giving up on having a serious relationship. Because I feel like all the boys are all the same and I just don't want to invest on something that is totally not worth it in the end again.

But I also don't want to be single when I'm old. So I don't know.

I was debating if I should text him right now or later or tomorrow or never.

I mean it's my future that's depending on it.

What should I text him?

~•~

It's been a week since I texted the guy's number that Ashe sent me and it's also been a week that he hasn't reply. I feel like he haven't even seen the message yet.

So I decided to call Ashe about it, since I have a little time to spare before I get back to my work shift.

“Yes? I'm doing a live interview in a few minutes so this better be quick.” She said once she answered the call

“I'm sorry but I sent a message to the number you sent me a week ago and he haven't replied to me. Are you sure you sent me the right number?” I asked

“Really? Maybe he's just really busy at work.” She said “I'll double check the number but I'm pretty sure it's the right one.”

“Okay thanks, sorry again for calling out of the blue.” I said

“It's okay, I'll text you the number as soon as I'm done with my live interview. Talk to you later, bye.” She said before ending the call

~•~

I'm currently back at my apartment drinking a red wine while watching Sherlock Holmes on Netflix.

Then all of a sudden my phone bleeped. I checked on my phone and was surprised when I got a text from the number I texted a week ago.

Unknown number:
Hello, love . sorry I just saw your text today . i was busy with work last week, i really haven't got the chance to check on my personal phone ...

What?

Personal phone?

This dude has a work phone and a personal phone?

Unknown number:
Is it okay if I FaceTime you? I prefer seeing you than texting you ..

I widened my eyes in shock. I wasn't ready for this.

I quickly stood up from my couch and went straight to my bathroom to freshen up a bit.

I also changed my tank top and wore a decent t-shirt. I even sprayed some perfume on my neck even though I know he can't even smell me. Lastly, I put my hair into a ponytail and sprayed a bit of dry shampoo so it looks like I showered.

Once I'm all ready, I replied that it's okay to FaceTime me. Then a few seconds later he's ringing my phone.

I took a deep breath before answering the call.

When I answered it, I was greeted by a 'The Eagles' portrait that is framed on the wall.

“Uh, hello?” I said

I was so confused, am I just going to talk to the picture?

“Oh, I'm sorry love. I didn't expect you to answer sooner. I just went to grab a bottle of red wine.” He said with a thick irish accent

I was completely stunned on the person that I am FaceTiming to.

Why didn't Ashe told me that she set me up with Niall Horan?! I could've gone more prepared, like mentally prepared.

“I'm guessing by your reaction you know me.” He chuckled “So, hi.”

“Oh, my God.” That was the only words that came out of my mouth

Real smooth, (Y/N). Real smooth.

“I'm sorry that was rude. Hi, I'm (Y/N).” I said as casually as I can “And yes, I know you. Don't worry I won't interrogate you about your career life. I promise you, my intentions are about getting to know you like personally.” I added “I actually have my questions all set for my date with you here in my laptop, wait let me just get my laptop.”

“Oh..” He said

I giggled to myself then laughed harder when I couldn't control it anymore.

“What's funny?” He confusely asked

“I was just messing with you. I don't have any questions on my laptop. I'm not going to interview you.”

“Ha-ha very funny.” He coldly said

“I'm sorry I didn't mean to make fun of you. Honestly speaking, I'm just really nervous and--” Then he cut me off and laughed

“Got ya!” He said making me frown

“That's very cool.” I said “Anyways, I'm (Y/N).”

“Nice meeting you, (Y/N). I'm Niall.” He said then he raised his wine glass “Shall we begin?”

“Yes, we shall.” I smiled and raised my wine glass
