Niall's POV
"Ma?" I called once I got inside the house
"Oh, there's my petal!" Mom hugged me once she saw me standing in the middle of the hallway "Nice to see you too, dear!" Mom gave (Y/N) a hug also
(Y/N) and I flew to Ireland last night because we had a stop over here. So we decided to quickly visit my family before we leave tomorrow morning.
"I miss you both so much!" Mom said after pulling away from the hug
"We miss you too, ma." I said and gave her a kiss on the cheek "Is Greg here already?"
"Not yet, petal. But he called and said he's on his way here." She answered as we walked to the kitchen
"Wow, it smells wonderful." (Y/N) once said as we stepped into the kitchen "Is that your famous baked potato?"
"Well I had to bake one because I knew you were coming." Mom smiled
"I've been dying to have that ever since I first tasted it." (Y/N) excitedly said
"I sent Niall the recipe and the procedure a long time ago." Mom said "You can just ask him to make you one."
"Oh, ma. Trust me, I tried." I said making them both laugh
"I'm sure it wasn't that bad." Mom said
"Oh it was, Maura." (Y/N) jokingly said "Don't worry, I still love you even if you're a terrible cook." (Y/N) added and gave me a kiss
"I hope next time you come visit me, you two are getting married." Mom said while pouring some orange juice in a pitcher
(Y/N) and I looked at each other and grinned.
"Ma, actually..." I said and then (Y/N) raised her hand to show her the engagement ring
"What?! Oh, my goodness!" Mom clapped her hands together and started crying
(Y/N) and I walked beside her and gave her a tight hug.
"Is that why you two went to Brazil?" Mom asked and I nod
"I actually didn't know. I just thought we were just having a vacation with our friends." (Y/N) said as she shows mom her engagement ring
"You have to tell me everything." Mom exclaimed "I'm so happy for the both of you."
"Thank you, Maura." (Y/N) smiled
"Why didn't you tell me you were proposing? I am your mother. I have the right to know." Mom hugged me nonetheless
"Well it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you." I said hugging her back
"You know what." Mom said before pulling away "The day you introduced (Y/N) to me, I knew she was the girl you'll marry."
"That's so sweet, Maura."
"Yes, it's true. I didn't want to tell Niall yet because I don't wanted it to jinx." Mom said making (Y/N) and I chuckle "My son is getting married!" Then she hugged me again
"Okay, what did I miss?" I heard Greg said behind me
So mom and I pulled away from the hug. Then (Y/N) stood beside me and wrapped her arm around my waist.
"Congratulations, you're going to be a best man." I casually said
"To whom's wedding?" He asked
It took him a few seconds to realize then he said "What? You proposed?!" He said and I nod "Congrats!"
He then gave us a tight hug "Poor woman, lucky lad." He jokingly said making (Y/N) laugh
