Niall's POV

I woke up 6 in the morning today, because I have to get to the gym because my trainer scheduled me at 7am. (Y/N) was still fast asleep when I left so before I head out, I left a little note and placed it on her bedside table so she won't worry about me.

It was an hour drive to the gym so when I arrived, I started doing my workout routine with my personal trainer.

When I finished working out, I head towards my locker and checked on my phone to see a text from (Y/N) a few minutes ago. She told me to stop by Taco Bell to grab her favorite food.

Once I got home, with a bag of food, I went straight to the laundry room and put all of my dirty clothes inside the washing machine. I called (Y/N)'s name and said that I got her food with me but she didn't respond.

I guess she's in the bathroom so I went straight to our bedroom. But when I heard a beautiful angelic voice singing Free Falling by John Mayer, I stopped in my tracks.

The door to our bedroom was slightly open, enough for me to see what's inside. When I peeked inside, I saw (Y/N) with a laptop in front of her and my guitar on her lap while singing the lyrics of the song.

I didn't know she can sing and play guitar at the same time. We've been together for six months and lived in for two months now but she didn't tell me that she has a talent.

“All the vampires, walkin' through the valley, they move west down Ventura Boulevard.” She sang beautifully while strumming the guitar leaving me in shock “And all the bad boys standing in the shadows, and the good girls are home with broken hearts and I'm free, free fallin', fa--”

I must've interrupted her because she stopped singing and she quickly stood up once she saw me standing outside the door.

When I walked inside our room she was pale as a ghost.

“How long have you been there?” She gasped and hurriedly closed her laptop

“Long enough.” I answered “Why did you stop?”

“Because, I didn't want you to hear it.” She quietly said “It's terrible.”

“What?! Are you kidding me?!” I exclaimed “That was really good! Your voice is beautiful.”

“You're overreacting, Niall. You must be tired, get some rest.” She said as she puts back the guitar but I can see her face blushing while she does it

“No, I'm not overreacting nor bias. I'm really serious about this.” I said but she just stands there and hanging her head low “Hey, look at me.” When I lift her face up by her chin, I looked her through her eyes and I can see them sparkle

“I don't know, Niall. I feel like I'm not good enough.” She disappointedly said

“Why do you always think of yourself like that?” I asked “You've always been good enough.”

She gave me a faint smile and gave my nose a peck “I love you.”

“I love you too.” I said and kissed her on the lips “Can you please sing it again?”

“Niall, I need more practice.” She said

“Well let's practice it together.” I said and quickly grabbed my guitar and sat at the end of the bed

“I'm hungry.” She pouted

“I'll give you your food once you sang Free Fallin' with me.” I said

“Why are you doing this to me?” She whinedly said but gave in at the end

“What was that line again?” I asked as I playfully strum the guitar

“All the vampires, walkin' through the valley they move west down Ventura Boulevard.” She sang as I play the chords “And all the bad boys are standing in the shadows, and the good girls are home with broken hearts.”

Then I harmonized with her when she sang the chorus “And I'm free, free fallin', fallin'.”

When we finished the song, we both smiled and realized how beautiful the sound of our voice when we sang it together.

“Will you let me eat now?” She asked making me chuckle

“Always thinking about food.” I said before kissing her forehead “It's on the kitchen island.”

“Come on, let's eat.” She took my hand after I put the guitar down and walked over to the kitchen “Oh no, there's no mild sauce. Good thing I keep some on my jar.”

“What jar?” I turned around to see that she has her own stock of Taco Bell sauce on one of our kitchen cabinets “I am so fond of you, (Y/N).” I said making her chuckle

As we took a couple of bites, I can't help but ask “When did you start playing guitar?”

“Uhm, I was five when I got my first acoustic guitar, it was given by my unlce. But I didn't play it back then.” She answered “I got curious when I was eight. So, I told my parents that I want to learn how to play a guitar and then they enrolled me to guitar lessons.”

“And the singing?” I asked

“Singing is just nothing. I don't really sing, I'm just any other girls who sings songs when they are bored.” She chuckled

“Well I don't agree with that, your voice is amazing. Any other girls won't believe you that your voice is nothing.” I said

“I didn't even took voice lessons. How can I have an amazing voice?” She asked

“You don't have to take voice lessons just to have an amazing voice.” I said “Have you recorded yourself and listened to it?”

She responded by shaking her head 'no'.

“Oh, Jesus Christ! Come on, let's go to the music room.” I said

I have a mini studio built inside my house, I don't have all the equipments but I do have the basic necessities.

“Okay, stand here and put this on.” I said as I hand her over the headphones

I sat down and turned on all the mic and speaker. I grabbed my other guitar that is sitting here in the studio and played the chords of Free Fallin'.

“Now sing the first verse of Free Fallin'.” I said

“She's a good girl, loves her mamma. Loves Jesus and America, too. She's a good girl, crazy about Elvis. Loves horses and her boyfriend too, yeah yeah.” She beautifully sang through the mic making me smile and my heart flutter “It's a long day, livin' in Reseda, there's a free way running through the yard. I'm a bad boy 'cause I don't even miss her, I'm a bad boy for her heart and I'm free, free fallin', fallin'.”

When we finished recording the first verse and chorus of the song, I told her to sit down and listened how amaze I am with her voice.

“Niall what did you do to my voice? It sounds wonderful!” She gasped, surprised with her own voice

“Now you know what I'm talking about.” I said “I didn't do anything, I just turned on the mic and played the tune. That's all yours, (Y/N).”

She just sat there amazed with her own voice. I couldn't help but smile on how happy I am to see her grin while listening to her record.

“Oh my, God.” She said and then she jumped on her sit and gave me a tight hug “I love you, I love you, I love you!”

“I love you too.” I chuckled

She is so adorable, she's like a little kid who got her Christmas present.

“I can't believe that's my voice.”

“So you better stop the mentality of seeing is believing.” I said as I wrapped my arms around her waist “Always trust and believe in yourself, remember that, (Y/N).”

“Thank you.” She said giving me a peck on the lips “For making me realize that I am more than what I think of myself.”

“You're welcome, my love.” I said “If you feel insecure, just remember I'll be right here to prove you that you're nothing like that, okay?” I said and she smiled and nod “I love you.”
