Silver's Pokémon were able to wrap up the remainder of the battle fairly easily. Upon his Pokémon winning Zubat began to glow and shimmer as its form changed.

Zubat's wings and jaw grew larger, feet sprouted from its feet and its eyes snapped open. Solidifying that it was now a Golbat.

Chuck gave Silver his rewards for winning the battle and hurried to the waterfall he was under before.

Silver rejoined us and as we tradition, he and I high-fived. "Nice stuff! Your Zubat evolved and everything! Pretty cool!"

Lillie adjusted her bag and we walked out of the gym. "So, I guess it's back to Olivine City?"

I nodded. "Yep! Hopefully, by the time we get back, Bill will have called us."

It had only gotten hotter as the day went on. The sun was shining high in the sky and I immediately wanted to get back out of the sun.

Waves softly went up and down the shore and I noticed a group of people had gathered around the rocky mountains to the north of the island.

"What's going on over there?" Lillie asked, peering at the crowd.

Silver shrugged. "Maybe there's some Pokémon up there? We should probably check it out."

Suddenly a loud boom erupted from the mountains and the ground began to shake. Wordlessly, the three of us hurried to the crowd.

People were staring at the entrance to a cave with shocked expressions. Smoke was pouring out of it but nobody seemed to be moving. "What's going on?" I demanded.

One of the townsfolk were snapped out of their trance. "We saw some suspicious folk heading into the cave and suddenly there was this loud bang. Pokémon live in that cave, lots!"

I looked at Silver and he immediately understood what I wanted to do. We charged into the cave through the smoke with Lillie trailing behind.

"Guys! This isn't a good idea!" She called.

We pushed through the smog and found ourselves in a dimly lit cave. Pokémon were flailing about in the cavern.

The cave was a one-room rocky cavern with an entrance leading off further into the cave system. A group of trainers dressed in the familiar black uniforms was standing in the center of the room.

Each of the people held Poké Balls in their hands and seemed prepared to attack the panicking Pokémon.

I grit my teeth upon seeing them. "Team Rocket! What have you done!" I shouted.

The group of no more than ten noticed me and began to laugh. "Hey, kid! Piss off! You don't want to get involved here!"

Silver, with a furious expression on his face, called out Croconaw. "Whatever it is that you're trying to do to these Pokémon, you're going to pay for disturbing them!"

The Team Rocket members seemed unimpressed by Silver's threats. "Yeah, sure. You kids come any closer and we'll set off more of our explosives!"

Lillie lightly tapped me on the shoulder. "Uhm... guys I'm not sure if this is the best idea." She squeaked.

"Listen to your friend, you stupid kids!" The grunts threatened.

Silver balled up his hands into fists. "Croconaw, Water Gun!" Silver's Pokémon fired a spray of water at some of the grunts.

"Don't say we didn't warn you!" The leader of the group shouted. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a detonator, pressing the button immediately.
