Chapter Thirty Four- Friends To The End!

Silver sent out Unown first and I countered by sending out Sneasel. "Here we go! Unown use Hidden Power!" Unown began to charge an attack from its eye.

"Sneasel, run in and use Ice Punch!" My Pokémon dodged the beam Unown fired at it and ran at the Psychic Type.

Sneasel jumped into the air and punched the Pokémon directly in the eye. "Don't let up! Ice Shard!" Sneasel conjured a few chunks of ice and tossed them into the opposing Pokémon.

Unown flew onto the ground and slowly got airborne. "Unown! Use Hidden Power again!" Silver shouted.

I grinned. "You won't get the chance! Use Night Slash!" A purple blade appeared in Sneasel's hand and he quickly struck Unown with it. Unown fell back down and fainted.

Silver returned his first Pokémon while Sneasel made his way back to my side of the field. Our first victory and we didn't even get hit! I guess that happens when Unown is battling...

Silver didn't seem upset by the circumstances and wasted no time sending out Skiploom. "Skiploom?" I confirmed.

Silver grinned and nodded. "You'll see! Skiploom use Fairy Wind!" Skiploom's leaf began to spin and blow a current at Sneasel. The current had a pink glow to it and my Pokémon was knocked over by the move. That's super effective!

"Sneasel use Ice Shard!" Sneasel got right back up and hit Skiploom with his extremely fast ice attack. Skiploom was damaged heavily by it and was nearly knocked out of the air.

Silver seemed to underestimate just how fast Sneasel was. "Hang in there Skiploom! Use Giga Drain!" Two green whips shot out from under Skiploom's flower and went straight for Sneasel.

"Knock them away with Night Slash!" Sneasel sliced one of the arms but the other grabbed him from behind and began to drain his energy. "Throw your Night Slash at Skiploom!" Sneasel did just that and struck the Grass and Flying-type.

He was released from the hold of the arm at this point. "Now use Ice Punch!" Sneasel ran in and slammed his fist into another one of Silver's Pokémon, taking it out.

Sneasel ran back over to me but I could tell his stamina was running low. Silver's next Pokémon was his Ninetales. "Use Sunny Day!"

Ninetales conjured a ball of fire and shot it into the sky. Heat exuded from the fireball and onto the battlefield. Let's get in some damage while we can!

"Double Team and Night Slash!" Sneasel copied himself multiple times and each of them summoned a blade into their hands.

The Sneasel started to come close to Ninetales all around her. "Use Flamethrower!" Silver shouted. Ninetales began to destroy the copies one by one with her fire.

The flames got closer and closer to the real Sneasel while we closed to distance between the two Pokémon. "Jump up and attack!" Sneasel leaped over the flames at the last second and struck Ninetales on the back.

Ninetales shoved him off. "Flamethrower!" Silver's Pokémon didn't hesitate and fired another powerful blast of flames at Sneasel.

Sneasel was engulfed by the fire and thrown into the ceiling. He crashed down onto the ground unconscious. I recalled him and sent out Quagsire next.

To my surprise, Silver didn't switch his Pokémon. "Ok Quagsire, use Earthquake!" My Pokémon stomped on the ground and it started to shake.

Ninetales winced as the shockwaves reached her. "Hang in there Ninetales and use Will-O-Wisp!" A few purple fireballs appeared around her and flew into Quagsire.

What did he just do? I wondered. "Use Surf!" Quagsire fired an orb of water which crashed onto the ground and turned into a wave.

The wave was weakened by the sun but still dealt considerable damage to Ninetales. Quagsire suddenly ignited for a brief moment. Oh no! He's burned!
