The day after the celebration everyone got some much-needed rest. Before long, weeks started passing as people fell into new routines.
Silver climbed up Mount Silver to train his Pokémon, new and old, for the big day he would take on the Pokémon League.
They would do this every day until they decided they were ready to win it all. In the meantime, Gold and Silver still found time to spend together.
One day, they sat by the river where they had spent many days of their childhood. "Gold, do you think my mom wants to see me? My real one." Silver asked.
Gold was taken aback by the question. "I mean... I assume so. Why?"
Silver shrugged. "I don't know. I know who she is and where she's being held but I haven't had the confidence to do it. After how Giovani-my dad reacted to seeing me... I just don't know."
Gold placed his hand on his friend's shoulder. "I think you should do it. You can't let yourself being afraid hold you back from something that may be great for you. You're the one who taught me that."
"Yeah, ok." Silver rolled his eyes. "You weren't that hard to persuade into coming along on the journey."
"Yeah, I guess not. But I was still scared." Gold admitted. "There are so many things that happened to me during our whole adventure that I don't know how I would've gotten through without you. I know I don't show it often, but I really do get scared sometimes."
Silver took what he said in. "Really? I always figured I was the scared one and you were the confident one."
"I don't think it's like that at all. Everyone gets scared... but you and I, we keep going even when we're scared. Because that's how you overcome fear." Gold explained.
Silver chuckled a bit. "Yeah, I guess so. It all sounds a bit silly to talk about it though."
Lillie stood in Professor Bill's lab looking dumbfounded at all the inventions he had lying all over the floor.
Bill pushed aside some papers and fished out an old notebook. "This right here is my journal from right after I turned into a Pokémon! I should have the rest of the research around here somewhere and then we can really get started on a treatment for your mother!"
Jess and her Pokémon spent time training with the Kimono Girls and learning a brand new battle style.
The young trainer would work hard to curb her more toxic behaviors when it came to Pokémon and she soon set out to get the rest of her Gym Badges with her new and improved team of Pokémon.
Alex did challenge the Pokémon League again in the next few weeks but wasn't able to best Gold in battle.
The trainer decided to leave for the Hoenn region where he would try starting anew and growing stronger as a person.
Eusine sat with Suicune by a river and talked with it. Trying to understand what the Pokémon had experienced in the many years it had spent alone and connect with it better.
It would take a lot of time and hard work but Eusine was determined to get Suicune to trust him and battle by his side.
Red soon vanished along with Daisy. Blue assured everyone that he was in contact with them and they were fine and they just wanted to get away from everything now that they had the opportunity.
It was said that they could be seen in Alola at one of the resorts a few weeks later but the rumors remain unvalidated.
One day, Gold had a free day and decided it was time to do something he had wanted to do as soon as he had beaten Red.
Gold jumped off of Raikou's back as it arrived at Ecruteak City. The Champion ran into the city's gym to go and talk with its leader.
The two trainers walked out of the Pokémon Gym and to the Bell Tower. After a long climb, they reached the top and Gold took the Rainbow Wing from his bag.
Morty took the wing from Gold and threw it into the sky. The breeze caught the Rainbow Feather and it started flying further and further up.
Before long, the clouds parted to reveal Ho-Oh flying down. It circled the tower twice and then landed its feet on the center. The Rainbow Pokémon towered over the two trainers.
"Ho-Oh, it's good to see you again." Gold said. "Let's have a battle and see where it takes us." The bird nodded its head and Gold sent out his Quagsire.
It was time to battle the legendary Ho-Oh. And Gold knew that no matter what happened he would have his Pokémon and friends by his side. So he gave it his all.
Author's Note: And that's a wrap! After 40 main chapters, a prologue, and an epilogue we're finally here!
Thank you so much for reading through this entire story! It was a blast for me to write and I had so much fun juggling so many ideas and expanding on what I did in Finding My Voice!
This was a huge project for me so getting to the end of it is really exciting. As for the future of this world, there isn't any right now. I really like how I left this story off and I just don't see a reason to continue it. If I do though, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
Thank you all again for reading and I hope you enjoyed this monster of a story. If you liked this then consider checking out some of my other Pokémon stories!
That's all for now! I'll see you all in the future! Bye!
