30.Seizure

Recap: "That's Daniel's room"

By the time Carly and Anna reached the room, the rest of the family was standing outside, Keri crying into Jeff's shoulder. "What happened?" Anna asked and it wasn't Keri who answered but Carly. "It means he had a seizure" Carly said quietly and everyone turned to her.

"How did you know that" Tyler asked and Carly shrugged but looked at her shoes. A good ten minutes later, a doctor walked out. "Nothing to worry about, don't freak out. The IV drip flow was increased, making his blood sugar levels shoot high. He's better now, you can go see him. Um, to avoid further incidents like this, you can take him home later" the doctor said and everyone nodded.

Carly let the others, Daniel's actual family walk in before. "Carly?" came a voice and she smiled when she saw the source of the voice. "Hi Mr.Carter . Well Dr.Carter I guess" Carly smiled, hugging the older man who laughed.

"Carly I told you to call me John. Just John Carly" The guy said, his smile lines crinkling. "Hehe. But your still working?" Carly asked and the man nodded. "Yeah. But have...Have you met Lea recently? She still doesn't want to talk to us" John Cater sighed and Carly looked down.

"Um, yeah. She was at Oscar's grave yesterday. Want me to talk to her?" Carly asked and John's eyes softened. "No dear. This is our family problem. I just- It was unexpected but I guess we shouldn't have kicked her out for getting pregnant" John said and Carly softly smiled.

"Well where are you heading?" Carly smiled and John pointed at Daniel's room, making her surprised. "A seizure patient. I need to check his vitals. Why are you so surprised?" John said, frowning. "My husbands in that room" Carly bit down her lip and John's eyes widened.

"Then I can tell you he's in good hands" John smiled and Carly smiled back. "I know Mr.Carter . You've cured my broken ankle" Carly winced and John chuckled as they walked in. "And Lea dragged you to that concert, I remember" John said as they entered, his eyes landing on Daniel who was propped up against pillows.

"Mr.Seavey? Hi, I am Dr.John Carter. You got a seizure under excess sugar in your blood. Its alright but you need to reduce your sugar intake for the next week" Mr.Carter said professionally and Carly snickered under her breath, everyone looking at her curiously but she maintained a straight face.

Well almost before she burst into giggles. "Ms.Difflin- sorry Mrs.Seavey do you have something to say?" John asked her and she shook her head, a teasing expression on her face. "Not at all Dr.Carter . Just wondering if he can go to concerts?" Carly said teasingly, ignoring the confused looks but John chuckled.

"He cannot Mrs.Seavey . He cannot at all and if he wants to he has to get a signed slip from me" John told her, a smile on his face. "But Mr.Seavey, You may be discharged. The parent or your wife needs to sign the papers and you can be taken home. Who will take care of you?" He asked Daniel who replied with "My wife".

"Right Mrs.Seavey if you would step out we can go over the do's and don'ts" John told her and Carly nodded, following him. "Carly the rules are simple. No hot sun, no sugars for a week and after that, keep it less. Theres medicines so even the excess sugar won't cause him to get a seizure again. Carly they don't want me to tell you but none of our nurses will slip like that. It seems planned, take care of him" John told her and she nodded, a slightly worried look on her face.

"Leanna still loves you guys. And it would be unfair if Cameroon grew up without grandparents. Talk to her, she'll take you guys back, I'm sure" Carly said and John smiled, pulling her into a hug. "And don't you dare take him to concerts" John said and Carly giggled.

"I won't promise anything" Carly giggled and a cough interrupted them. "Um the papers are signed" Jeff said, his darting between the father daughter relationship duo. "Right Mr.Seavey . You can take him back home but do not move him anywhere else. Carly please keep me updated" John said and she nodded.

An hour later, Carly found herself closing the apartment door on the Seaveys, Daniel sitting on the couch. Carly began cleaning up the apartment, the dust all over from no one having stepping in since over two days.

Carly bent over, switching on the vacuum as she began running it across the carpet, and she bent over to fling a piece of cloth on the floor, and she felt Daniel staring at her. 'Stupid girls with the idea to dress me up in this' Carly thought, Katie surprisingly quiet.

Carly finished cleaning, telling Daniel to sit up as they had to change the bandages on his chest. "I- Why are you wearing that" Daniel asked as she slowly peeled off the bandage, sitting on his lap as she tried not to look at Daniel's bare chest and abs.

"Its what Anna and Amanda got. I didn't really have a choice" Carly shrugged as she slowly cleaned the stitched cut with rubbing alcohol then slowly placed the new bandage on top of it. She looked up, their faces inches away, and Carly remembered the make out a few days ago.

"Were you scared? When I got shot?" Daniel asked, his breath fanning his face and Carly looked down, the hair falling in front of her face. Daniel slowly pushed it behind her ear, cupping her face and Carly leaned into his touch unconsciously.

"I- yeah. The police got them and Lily took up the case because they have a lawyer" Carly said quietly and Daniel scanned her expression, sending her a small smile. "Thank you. Its been long since someone cried for me" Daniel whispered, the room quiet.

"I don't think i'd be human if I didn't cry" Carly mumbled and Daniel pulled her closer. Just as their lips were about to touch, the doorbell rang, making them jump apart. "I- I'll get that" Carly said, getting off Daniel's lap and walking over to the door.

'God what was I thinking' Carly groaned to herself, opening the door. And what she saw, made her freeze. "Daniel?" Carly gulped thickly. "Yeah who is it Carly?" Daniel asked and Carly looked at him, her face pale. "we got an envelope" Carly said, before continuing.

"Another threat"
