20.Contract

Recap: And a tear slipped

"Are you ok?" Daniel asked and Carly nodded quickly, wiping the tear. "We'll be there in 5 minutes mom" She said, before hanging up. Carly breathed deeply and Daniel looked at her, concerned. 

"Carly?" He asked and Carly shook her head. "I'm fine" She said before typing out a long paragraph on I messages. Daniel couldn't see who it was or what the message contained, more focused on not crashing and killing them.

They pulled to a house and Carly lightly clenched her jaw as she got out, slamming the car door behind her. Daniel didn't say anything, knowing he might get killed with how angry she was. "Carly! And Daniel! Come in. Why all of a sudden?" Adam Difflin opened the door and Carly snorted walking in.

However Daniel didn't expect to see polaroids and sketch books to be bunched in a pile on the room floor. Carly turned around and glared hard at her dad before walking to the pile. "Touch it and I will burn you with them" Carly's dad spat, his voice harsh, and Daniel was taken aback.

Carly stopped, took a deep breath and looked at her mom who stood there quietly. She slowly stepped back, and stood next to Daniel. "Right Daniel. Please ignore that. So what have you both come along for?" Adam said and Daniel began speaking.

"Mr.Difflin my company's stocks are falling by 5% and your company's has fallen by 10%. I suggest its best if we make the deal now and change 51% of the company under my name for it might bring both the company's higher profits" Daniel said and Adam stared at him.

"What if I don't wanna share the company?" Adam asked and Carly stepped forward. "Mr.Difflin I have the signed contract with me right now. You either hand over 51% or pass the company down to your heir. Whichever it is that you want to do, I have both the documents" Carly said and Adam glared. 

"Carly Rae Difflin watch what your saying" Adam glared and Carly fake laughed. "I'm sorry Mr.Difflin but I am Mr.Seavey's P.A and I am obliged to listen to him and only him. Also, a minor correction, its Carly Rae Seavey" Carly said and Adam's face twisted into hatred.

"May I see the original contract?" He asked and Carly handed it over. Adam smiled before ripping it in two. "I now see why your business plans always work. But don't worry, that was just a copy. The original is safe" Carly smiled and her dad clenched his jaw.

"Mr.Difflin please choose which option you're going to follow" Daniel said and Adam glared before walking over and getting a pen. "i'll give you 51%" He said and Carly mumbled something about selfishness as she gave him the contract.

"Your dressed like a slut, you know that?" Adam asked, the pen hovering over the signature part. "My husband likes it when I'm a whore for him, Mr.Difflin . Please sign the contract and stop wasting time" Carly said and Daniel bit the inside of cheek to stop his jaw from dropping.

'If everything was normal and not screwed up, I would literally be the happiest man on the earth right now' Daniel thought as Adam read through the papers. Adam kept averting his eyes to the window and Daniel curiously looked at the window.

It took him a second before he saw the sniper and his eyes widened. But before he could say anything or have Adam move out of the way, the glass shattered and Daniel tackled Carly to the floor, him following right after. 

Carly's eyes were wide and Daniel slowly sat up to see Mary Difflin holding her hand to her mouth. His eyes averted to ink spilled all over the contract and Adam Difflin on the floor, blood oozing out of his head, his eyes rolled back, however a satisfied smirk on his face.

Like he knew this was going to happen.

 Daniel helped Carly up, whos eyes landed on her now dead father and her eyes filled up with tears. Carly turned away from the body and hugged Daniel, who wrapped his arms around her comfortingly as he called up the police.

The next half hour was a blur. Police came, along with an ambulance. The police promised to check this. Paramedics promised to have the body cleaned and said they could collect the body by 1 o'clock the next day. Mary Difflin was sitting on the floor, Carly was clinging to Daniel, refusing to look at anything. Paparazzi were all around the house.

 Carly's friends burst through the door eyes landing on their blonde friend hugging her husband. Her hands were around his neck, head on his shoulder. Daniel was leaned against a wall, arms around Carly's waist, watching the body being transferred into a body bag.

"Carly!" Charlotte exclaimed and Carly looked up, eyes filled with tears as she finally let Daniel go, and was embraced with hugs from all around. "What happened?" Corbyn asked, running his hands through his hair. "He was going to sign the contract but he kept glancing at the window. When I looked, there was a sniper but before I could say anything, he had already fired. But Adam looked like he knew this was going to happen. Thats whats fishy" Daniel told them, pulling off his wet jacket.

"Hows Mrs.Difflin holding up?" Jonah asked looking around. "She went upstairs right before you came" Daniel said and Jack frowned. "Shouldn't someone go check on her?" He asked and exactly as he said that there was a scream from upstairs.

Carly ran up the polished stairs, the others following. And they found the maid standing there, her hands over her mouth, pressed against the wall. Carly looked into the room, before falling to the ground. For there was Mrs.Difflin .

And she had hanged herself.

I literally had something completely different planned for this chapter but I like how this turned out :)  *Avoids thrown bricks*
