19.Phone Call

Recap: "oh, ok"

7pm found the Seaveys at the dinner table, sitting in the round table. Dinner was quiet and Carly resisted the urge to babble something out, knowing she might ruin things. 'As usual' her mind snarked and Carly clenched her palm around the fork as she cut up the meat.

"So any calls from the modelling company again Carly?" Jeff asked and Carly smiled politely. "I did get a few along with emails but" Carly shrugged and Jeff smiled.

"Were you a model?" Anna asked quietly and Carly nodded. "My parents let me model after I graduated with my law degree. But I still wasn't allowed to promote myself to the rags" Carly joked and Anna giggled at her choice of words. 

Things went back to silence, before Carly's phone rang, the ringtone of 'Barbie Girl' playing. "When did Zach find the time to change this" Carly mumbled, and declined the call noting it to be her mother. She fiddled with the settings before changing it back to her original one, an embarrassed flush on her face. Carly's phone rang again and she excused herself before taking the call, walking over to a corner.

"Mom?...I can't understand would you slow down...No the day after, why?....He what-...No but...Mom calm down-....No we'll discuss this...Ya ok I'll tell him....WHAT?...I don't fucking care if hes your husband, I will actually-...But-...Mum please...Alright bye.." Carly said before ending the call. She took a deep breath, composing herself.

The others were staring at her intrigued as she walked back in and whispered something to Daniel who got up and followed her. They walked out of earshot and Carly said something and Daniel's jaw clenched.

"I hope he doesn't scare her away. Shes so nice" Anna mumbled and the others looked at her. "Shes really sweet too. Hell she called me gorgeous" Anna said and Christian frowned. "We call you gorgeous all the time" He frowned and Anna shook her head.

"You guys know.....about that. She doesn't and yet she didn't ask. Haven't met someone like that in ages" Anna said and Tyler raised his eyebrows. "You haven't met anyone in ages Anna" He said and Anna shrugged.

They looked back at the couple, noticing Daniel saying something and Carly's face hardened, Daniel's face harsh. And then she did something they didn't expect her to. She slapped him.

(Meanwhile....) 

"Daniel mum says Jake's trying to buy over Difflin.Inc .She says we should force my dad to sign the contract soon" Carly said, and Daniel's jaw clenched. "I'm gonna fucking murder him and his worthless company" Daniel growled, fisting his palms.

"Daniel you can't do business with emotions. You need to calm down" Carly said and Daniel glared at her. "Are you distracting me so that your little boyfriend can go buy the company? I suspected something when I saw you at the coffee shop but I didn't believe it. How much does he pay you to be his who-" Daniel said as Carly's face hardened. 

And as if her hand had a mind of its own, it landed on Daniel's cheek, hard. "I am ture and pure to my innocence, and so is my body. Not every girl wants to toss her virginity like its trash" Carly spat, Daniel standing there stunned.

She realised what she had done and sighed. Stepping closer to the fake blond, the heels boosting her height, and Carly looked at the side of his cheek where her palm had landed. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have-" She said, one of her hands on his chest, looking down and Daniel shook his head.

"No I was the one acting off this whole night. I'm sorry. We're in this together, I shouldn't have been such a bitch" He said and Carly shrugged. "Its fine really. But mum also said there are people on your family's trails. I guess its mine now too but" Carly breathed and Daniel nodded. 

"We'll have to cut the dinner short and ask if they saw someone new around" Daniel said and she nodded. "Is everything alright?" Jeff asked as they walked back in. "Have you seen any new neighbours or strange faces?" Carly asked and Anna nodded.

"Yeah the next street. They moved in last night" Anna said and Daniel's eyes widened. "Your dad owns the next street" Daniel said and Carly frowned. "Keri we have to get going. I swear we'll come over for dinner again. Or you guys could come over, my treat" Carly smiled and Keri nodded.

"It must be important then" Christian said and Carly nodded, shaking his hand. She hugged Tyler and Amanda, shaking hands with the rest of the family. "My numbers on your bulletin board Anna. Call me or text me" Carly smiled before following Daniel out.

"Stupid heels" Carly muttered as she pulled them off in the car. In the next 10 minutes, Daniel had gotten the contract and they were now on the way to Carly's parents' house. Carly's phone rang, and she realised it ti be her mother again. She answered the phone call, listening to her mom say something, and her face fell.

And a tear slipped.

A filler :)

I feel like theres too many fillers but they almost as long as actual chapters so *shrugs*. Like literally only 200 to 300 words lesser (ehehe)

Idk if you got the notification, but the last supporting cast dedication chapter has been up since like 5 hrs aho. Please look into it, I have emailed wattpad support about this notification problem.
