Chapter Twenty-One

Callie

I was walking home after my visit to Allie. I was shaking my head at myself. I gave her what she wanted. I went down on her and got what I needed and high tailed it out of there.

Now I am almost back home at Sarah's and I am choking for a bath, I need to feel clean. Doing what I had done with Allie, made me feel dirty. Even though it's not the first time I've been with her or done that with her.
Her words kept ringing in my ear. "Are you sure Callie?"

Yes, I was fucking sure. I just wanted to sleep. To drown out the thoughts that were consuming my head. When I opened the front door, I see Sarah look up from her book. "I wasn't expecting you back so early."

"I wasn't feeling it, so I decided to come home early. Do you need the toilet? I want to take a bath."

"Nah, I am good. I've not long been. Hopefully, the bath will help relax you. How did you get on at the gym?"

I shot Sarah a smile. "Great. I start in two weeks' time."

"On the up babe!"

Not really, I thought to myself. "I'm going to head up. Movie later?"

"Sounds good to me."

I looked over my shoulder at Sarah and smiled. I honestly do not deserve her support. I waited patiently for the bath to run, I stripped off and popped my new purchase into my mouth. I'm just hoping that the bath along with the tablet will help me sleep better tonight.

Downstairs

There was a knock on the door and Sarah put her book down and went to answer it. "My God, hello." Sarah was staring at Jamie, Amanda's brother in the doorway.

"Hey Sarah, how are you?"

"I am good, come on in." Sarah stepped aside and let Jamie into her home. They made their way to the sofa. "How are you Jamie?

"Not bad thanks. However, I am here out of concern."

Sarah raised her eyebrow at Jamie, surprised by his words. "Concern? Why?"

"It is hard to explain Sarah but is Callie alright?"

Sarah shrugged her shoulders. "Callie is so-so. She has had a bit of a heartbreak, so she decided to move back here. She had been home for three weeks now."

"How does Callie appear?"

Sarah thought that was a strange question as she's aware that Callie has not seen Jamie for years up until recently. "Apart from the hurt, she is getting there, why?"

Jamie tilts his head and looks at Sarah. "How long has Callie been in the bath?"

"How did you know..."

Jamie raised to his feet and started looking concerned. "Again, hard to explain, please answer my question."

"About half an hour to an hour I think..."

Call me crazy but I swear I can hear Amanda's voice in my head. "You have to help Jamie; she is in danger." I close my eyes and shake my head.
