Ashley

I have at here and stared at my phone, not knowing what to say to Callie. I'm not sure if I should keep it light and simple, or just let it all go. So here it goes...

Ashley: Hey Callie. Don't be mad at Sarah for keeping me updated on your progress. I hope that one day you will find it in your heart to let me explain what really happened. I miss you, Ash xx

Hopefully that text will be okay. I am super nervous as I know that I have royally screwed up.

Callie

I actually slept surprisingly good last night, for the first time in what feels like forever.

In over a weeks' time, I will be starting in the gym and I need to maintain a positive focus, so I am planning on going out for a run this morning. I grabbed my headphones and my phone and made my way downstairs.

"Morning hun, did you sleep okay?" Sarah also looked bright and breezy this morning.

"Better than okay. Best night's sleep I have had in like, forever."

"Well, that is good news! So, what are your plans for today?" I had a little flashback the last time Sarah asked me that and I shook it away from my head.

"I am just about to head out for a run, get myself back in to it in preparation for next week."

"Good for you."

"Hmmm?" I didn't really hear Sarah's response since a text message caught my eye.

"I said good for you! Are you okay?"

"It's from Ashley." I was stunned. I honestly thought I would not hear from her.

"I knew she would message!" Sarah was a little over excited.

"Funnily enough, she mentions you and not to be mad at you for keeping her informed."

"Awe that is nice of her, but she doesn't realise I can kick your ass anyway."

I laughed. It actually felt good to laugh. "Yeah, I know."

"Can I ask a question?"

"Sure..."

"Well, I know you are going to say this is more than one question, so technically its two. Are you going to reply and why have you never told her where you are originally from?"

I let out a long breath. "One, yes I will reply and two...it was me keeping Amanda to myself really. Yes, I should have told her, but there wasn't any need after I ended things with her."

Sarah nodded and although she can't get her head completely around the life after death knowledge Jamie and I have, she seems to respect it. "But if Amanda supports you two together, surely moral support from Ashley will help you."

"Yeah, maybe so. Anyway, I am going for that run now."

"Okay and don't forget...reply to her!!" Sarah yelled as I was leaving the house.
