Callie

I slammed the front door shut and Sarah turned to face me. "You told Allie that I had died!" I was back home and wanting answers.

"Yeah, I just failed to mention that you had survived. Do not be angry with me Callie."

I looked at Sarah and if my face was giving off an angry vibe, then I would have to reassure Sarah. "I'm not. I actually get why you did it. But is there anything else that I need to know?"

"Not that I am aware of, no." Sarah chewed her lip. I'm not sure if that was down to nerves or hiding something from me.

"Are you sure?"

"Absolutely. However, I never thought I would see the day where you grilled me." Sarah chuckled and I felt relief inside.

"I know. It felt weird. Let's not do that again." We were both laughing now, and I just shook my head.

"Can you go for a shower or something? You are kind of sweaty..."

"Well, I should, especially after that run. It was brutal." I started to go up the stairs when Sarah shouted after me.

"Make sure you that you text Ashley back!!"

"Already did, dufus!" Smirking I disappeared at the top of the stairs and enjoyed my well-deserved shower.

I could hear Sarah pacing the hallway. She is either bursting for the toilet or with excitement. When I opened the door, Sarah was indeed pacing. "Oh, finally!!"

"You were wearing your carpet out with all that pacing up and down there Sarah."

"Well, I am impatiently waiting on you to tell me what went down between you and Ashley."

I smiled and raised my eyebrows and gestured me standing there in a towel. "You can wait a bit longer. I need to get dried and dressed, so move pal!"

"Ugh!! You can be so frustrating at time. Not to mention a tease!" The look of exasperation on Sarah's face was priceless.

"Ah well." I broke into a massive grin and disappeared into my room.

Half an hour later

"Callie!!" Sarah was yelling from downstairs. That lass has some gob on her that is for sure.

"What!?"

"Get your ass down here, NOW!"

"Coming, MUM!" I knew she hated that, but I just love winding people up, especially those who are close to me. I made my way downstairs, hiding my grin. "What did I do?"

"You took your bloody sweet time!"

"Yeah. I done it just to see you make a hole in your carpets." I grinned and I could see Sarah was starting to get a bit shitty with me.

"You are such a bitch."

"But you still love me..."

Sarah shook her head and laughed. "Luckily enough for you, aye."

I had to put her out of her misery and updated what was said between Ashley and me. "Well, at least it is a step in the right direction."

"Yeah. I am just gonna work on the friendship side first before I even contemplate the other side of the relationship." I took a drink of my water and looked at Sarah.

"I think she will stick around knowing that you are now on talking terms."

Looking at Sarah with a new feeling of looking forward to what my future could possibly hold. "I hope so, I really hope so..."
