We lay together quietly for a few moments longer.
“I’m speechless.”
I let out a laugh. “Go figure.”
“Callie, I never expected…” I gave her a look that made her stop talking.
“I know and I am grateful. You let me do this when I was ready to trust. I trust you Ashley, that is why when I woke up frustrated this morning, I knew I needed you, completely.”
Watching her eyes light up, slightly mist over, I could see that she was selecting an appropriate response.
“Does this mean that in the future…?”
“It won’t be one sided, no.”
“Oh, thank Fuck!” I had to laugh. She is adorable and she has been super patient with me. “Cal?”
“Yeah?”
“Please do not freak out…” I could feel her body tense against mine.
“Uhm, okay….”
“I’m… (really wanting to tell you the truth, but I’m scared) “
I looked at Ashley and she looked worried.
“I’m falling for you (so I told her something else)”
“That all? I’ve known that for ages.” I let out a laugh and playfully nudged her.
“Oh, you bitch! I was nervous to tell you.”
I laughed and kissed her gently. “Sorry, I could not resist babe. If it makes you feel any better, I have fallen for you.” I touched her face softly and looked into her eyes. “Or I wouldn’t have trusted you the way I did this morning.”
“I am honestly the happiest girl in the world right now.”
I shook my head. “I doubt it.”
“Why?”
“I’m the happiest.” I broke into a grin and she playfully nudged me. “So, I have to ask you something.”
“Sure, ask away.”
“Do you want to make us official?” Now I could feel my nerves kicking up a notch.
“As in?” She looked cute as she was quizzing me.
“Become my girl?”
As she bit her bottom lip then looked at me. “So, are you officially asking me to be your girlfriend?”
“I am, yes.”
“Then sorry…” My face fell and I could feel the hurt starting to surface. “I am the happiest woman right now, not you.”
I let out a sigh of relief and broke into a grin. “So, is that a yes?”
“Yes, it is a yes.”
I grinned again and took her completely in to my arms. We cuddled for quite some time and fell back asleep.

I was literally on cloud nine for days. I was even more chilled at work, but still a hard ass when it came to PT sessions.
Ashley and I had been seeing each other when our schedules allowed us and texting back and forth when we could.
I know she studies hard, and she was desperate to go out on Friday night, but I got stuck with the late shift at the gym. So instead, Ashley is going to hang out with that snotrag, Jaz. I still do not like her. It is clear that she fancies Ash.
