"Enjolras?" I asked nervously. "What did you just wish for?"
"I didn't do anything!" he shouted, fumbling to pull out the artifact, now fully aglow. "I wished silently, inside of my head..."
A sudden burst of light suddenly shot straight out of the artifact, and like a firework, exploded in the sky. Enjolras dropped the artifact in shock, and I dove and caught it in my palm so it wouldn't crack, staring up at the sky all the while. The abandoned street was suddenly filled with a shower of a golden, shimmery, glittery substance.
I jumped up, laughing, amazed. "Enjolras - you don't have to worry. It's showering gold! I guess you must have wished for something pretty special, for the powers that be to send us such a sign."
She was right. I had.
As I watched this shower of gold magically falling around us, I was happy to see that no time traveling was taking place. This was a sign to us both that I was finally where I was meant to be, and I was secretly grateful I got to stay. I thought to myself:

I looked over at Enjolras, who had his eyes closed and was smiling with arms outstretched, his eyes facing the sky. I wished I could see his thoughts right now.
