A/N: The song Avenir sings to Enjolras is worth a listen, it is one of my favorite show tunes of all time and has had a lot of meaning for me throughout my life.
Most importantly, in this chapter, Avenir makes "the choice."
Also this chapter is crazy long...but the rest of the novel will be shorter.
Should I split it into 2 shorter chapters? Which holds your attention more?

After we finished our singing, we sat in silence. Some of the boys drank some more, and even Grantaire tried to pressure me to drink "just one sip" but I wouldn't give in.
Time passed.
Enjolras gazed at me softly, and I meditated and tried to put my mind at ease.
Enjolras went and stood in the center of the clearing and made an announcement:
"Citizens, let us hold fast to our faith –
We must be ready for the fight
For the final fight
Let no one sleep tonight!"
I watched Feuilly carve the words "LONG LIVE THE PEOPLES" into the wall of the Corinthe, gazed at Victor furiously writing on several spare pieces of parchment, and then I shifted my gaze back to where Enjolras had been standing moments earlier.
He was gone.

"Victor. That is your name, is it not?" I said, watching the young man write in a small corner of the barricade.
"Yes?" questioned my old acquaintance, nervously.
"You are most welcome here. Thank you for telling our story. Might I borrow a spare piece of parchment?"
"Of course, my old friend. Here, borrow my quill. Take any time you need."
I accepted the quill with a small smile and wrote a heading on the parchment:
