Chapter 23: Close but!

"Are you feeling hot?" Mew asked Gulf

"No, why?" Gulf asked sincerely

"Your face is all red" Mew said earnestly, "Are you having a fever?" Mew got up from his chair and went closer to Gulf putting his hand on Gulf's head which Gulf pushed away....................

Mew understood that Gulf didn't like the closeness neither the kinship so he didn't pursue it further 

They went back to working, minutes later Gulf started scratching his neck and arms un-consciously. He was now visibly red like a tomato, and had spots over his arms and neck.

Mew was very concerned at this point.

"Gulf are you allergic to seafood?" Mew had to get answers

"No, only Shrimps!!"

"Anything else"

"No, just that, and I made sure not to eat the shrimps" Gulf exclaimed

Mew picked up his phone and called the Dr from the infirmary.

"Are you allergic to anything, did you have anything of that sort recently" The Doctor was throwing questions

"I only had seafood. But I didn't touch the shrimps because I am allergic to it"

"This is clearly an allergic reaction, you will need an Epipen for it, ASAP" The doctor said removing an epipen and injecting it into his thigh. Minutes later the redness and rashes started disappearing.

The doctor recommended some ice to ease the itchiness and some antihistamine to ease the pain if necessary.

Mew made Gulf lay down on the sofa and opened his suit shirt to allow air flow through his chest area. Mew sat on a near by chair and brushed down Gulf's hair from him face. He dabbed the ice pack on Gulf's neck slowly. From someone else's point of view it might seem like they are kissing but they are not!!!!!

Mew got his laptop near Gulf's sofa and continued working whilst Gulf was resting. He didn't want to disturb Gulf so he worked silently, he even took his calls outside the room.

As the day was getting over, he slightly nudged Gulf to wake him only to get Gulf to deny it

"Gulf, wake up" Mew said softly in Gulf's ears

"mhmm, let me sleep" Gulf turned over

"Gulf, wake up, don't tell me I didn't try to save you from this embarrassment" As much as Mew didn't want to wake up this baby, he knew that the cleaners would be coming and if they come in they might start a rumor that might upset Gulf.

Mew slowly bend down and picked up a sleepy Gulf bridal style and left the room. He was taking Gulf to the infirmary since there were beds to rest. On his way he saw one of his secretaries to which he hushed and shook his head. She turned her head and moved away, silence is golden....

Why is the ground shaking, Gulf thought. Was an earthquake coming, he tried moving around but he felt like he was stuck, so he slowly opened his eyes

"Huhhhhhhhhhhh" was all Gulf said and shoved Mew, ending up almost falling to the ground

"Are you all right?" Mew asked

"I am fine" Gulf said straightening his clothes and closing his front buttons "what are you doing?" A purely shocked Gulf asked.

"Taking you home" Mew joked but Gulf didn't get it, he was just plain shocked

"I was taking you to the infirmary" Mew said trying to ease the atmosphere

"If there was no work, then I'll go to my office" Gulf said turning away when Mew held his hand

"I need to tell you something"

"Go ahead, I am listening" Gulf said

"Listen, I think I ....." Mew was cut by an office worker

"Sir, the Asian branch is having some problems, they need you on the call ASAP "

"I am coming" he then turned to Mew "we will talk later" and then he walked with the personnel

Gulf turned and headed to his office and then headed home. Today was a hectic day and a long shower wold definitely help with that.

"Mild, bro, how was your day" The man asked

"Good, how about you? Have you adjusted to the new job"

"It's not any different from the previous one"

"Want to go for lunch together, I am bored alone"

"That's new coming from you, but why not, might as well spend some time with you, it's been too long, since we last met"

The men made small talks through out lunch

"You were Bright and Gulf's senior in college, I heard"

"Yeah, they are my cute juniors, so hardworking" Mild said proudly, they were like his babies

"Actually, one of my friends is really interested in Gulf, can you give me some of his likes and dislikes, so that my friend can decide if they can invite him for an outing"

"Oh!!! I feel like a parent sending his daughter on a first date" Mild said acting all tear-eyed

"My baby Gulf doesn't like sweets a lot but he likes healthy food a lot. Oh and don't take him to a seafood restaurant, he is allergic to shrimps.........." Mild continued like a proud parent

"mhmmmm, I'll take note of that" the man said hiding a smile behind his face
