Chapter 47: Truth!!!

"Can we get to the main topic?" Mew intervened. He didn't like when these bogus men were pressurizing his Gulf

"Sure" the other one said "Gulf, turn to page 23 of the contract, clause #165" and Gulf obliged and his eyes went huge.... This was not what he had written

"Had this contract being approved and sent to the company, we would have lost millions of dollars" the first man almost scared Gulf out of his chair

"But Sir, this was not..........."

"Don't start on me, had Pan not rectified it, we would have lost so much"

"I say he needs to be suspended for this" the first man said 

"I agree" half the panel agreed

"Who are you to be giving him punishment..... I'll deal with this myself,  meeting adjourned, Pan and Gulf stay back, I need to talk to you both " Mew was getting irritated

The men left one by one and the room fell silent

"Pan, I will ask you one last time, did Gulf write the contract?" Mew asked as he turned to Pan

"He did, why would I jeopardize my own father's company for such a huge loss, Mr.Mew" Pan at least made that much sense, but little did Mew know the truth......

"You can leave now" Mew said and Pan left the room shrouded in silence

Silence followed by the ticking of the clock

Mew sighed as he sat on the sofa and rubbed his temples

"Mew, I .........." Mew stopped Gulf as he started to talk

"Let me think of all this first, don't rush me" Mew said as Gulf stood there silently

"Gulf" Mew took a deep breath "tell me what happened?"

Gulf told him the whole story, A-Z of what had happened, his interaction with Tar and Pan....

But Mew had difficulty buying the story because of the signature

"Gulf, I....."

"Mew I know you wouldn't believe me because millions were at stakes but you got to believe me, I would never harm you or your company, I wouldn't get anything out of this"

"Gulf, your sign is there on the papers, if Pan wouldn't have spotted it out it would have been over for us"

"It was not me Mew, why would I harm my own lover's hard work, I have evidence on my computer, I'll show it to you" he and Mew left the office to go to the secretary's department

Gulf opened the door and it was empty, at least they could talk here alone in comfort.

"Have a seat, I'll open my computer" Gulf said to Mew as he led him to the computer

"I am giving you this chance cause I trust you and I love you" Mew said in a calm but angered tone...

Gulf got to work and opened his computer whilst Mew was rubbing his temples and hoping what Gulf had said was the truth........ Please be true...Mew begged internally............

"Open your account and don't touch your interface, I'll inspect it personally" Mew was not doing this to prove Gulf right, rather when the corporate would go into session, he could tell them that he had proof as he had seen with his own eyes

"Sure" Gulf could understand his point of view "It's open" Gulf stepped back and sat on the sofa as Mew cruised through his account

Minutes later Mew took deep sigh and stood up, this was not the reaction Gulf was expecting out of Mew

"Mew, is ....."

"Gulf, I indulge you because you are my lover, because I love you, I gave you my everything and this is what you do to me"

"Mew, what do you mean?" Gulf was confused

"Don't take advantage of my love to destroy my company" Mew threw the documents at Gulf nearly missing his face and stormed off

Gulf was just dazed at what had happened...........

He snapped out and then rushed to his computer too see what Mew actually saw and he was shocked...Mew had all rights to be angry, but he should have listened to Gulf first.

The computer did indeed carry the signed papers but that was because the software created for the contracts had a built-in command where in the person who finalizes the contract, their sign will automatically be stamped on the contract....this was not Gulf's fault, he overlooked a minor detail but why did Mew not read the clause 165 on page 23, the contract on the computer clearly stated 2.5 Billion dollars...........Gulf needed to rectify this with Mew before things get out of hand...he headed to Mew's office

"Mew, let me give you a message" Pan said as he stood at the head of the chair where Mew sat. Mew didn't even bother to push her off, he was busy thinking of Gulf's face that was shocked...why Gulf? Why jeopardize my company?........... a million thoughts flooded Mew's head as he analyzed the situation

"Mew, here is tea"

"Mew, let me tone down the a/c for you"

Pan walked away from the chair, acted as she had tripped and fell right on Mew's chair backwards, straight on to Mew's lap

"I am sorry, Mew" she said as she remained seated on his lap

"Get up, if you are done acting" Mew almost threw her out

"I..I..didn't mean it......it just happened" Pan justified

Then it hit Mew, the automatic software, why didn't he remember it before, he was wrong to lash out at Gulf. He had to apologize

Little did they know that Gulf was watching them from the outside. He had stopped in his tracks when Pan had fallen on to him.

Mew, if you wanted to date her, you should have just broken up, why act like this, Gulf thought internally as he left the area, why did he trust Mew initially, Why Mew? Why?
