Chapter 24: Will you?

Days went by quietly, work was progressing as usual. Mew was busy and barely had time to talk with Gulf, all he did was talk over the phone for work.

Gulf had just finished work and was heading down the elevator when the elevator stopped on the 7th floor and Mew stepped in

"Good evening, Sir" Gulf said nodding his head

"Gulf, finally, now that I have time, I need to tell you something come with me" He double pressed the ground floor button making the light go off, and pressed the basement button

"Sir, Sir, where are you taking me" Gulf asked, as the door opened to the basement and Gulf was dragged by his hand towards supposedly Mew's car.

Gulf pulled his hand out of Mew's clutches "we can talk here!" he stopped Mew in his tracks...

"If that's what you want" Mew said in a soft voice. He looked around the basement and after finding it empty moved towards Gulf. He slowly took Gulf's hands in his and looked straight into his eyes. Gulf couldn't break the eye contact so he was all eyes and ears.

"I like you" Mew dropped the bomb on Gulf

"Excuse me" Gulf said stuttering, what was Mew trying to say

"No, actually, I don't like you......" Mew continued and then paused. That was more like it, how can a man like a man, was what Gulf thought.

It's not like he hated the idea, he knew love comes in all form, shapes and gender. But how could Mew even like him, that was out of question. But then since Mew rectified himself, that was better

"I love you" Mew said, yes this is what he wanted to say initially

Gulf just stared at Mew like as if he was speaking in an alien language

"I am a guy!" Gulf said trying to push some sense into Mew

"I know, but this is a first for me" Mew said "It was love at first sight"

He fell for me when I tarnished his mouse vanish suit, is he crazy, some screw need to be fixed in his head, Gulf thought to himself

"Are you sure?" Gulf questioned, unable to comprehend what was going on.

"I am, 100%, believe me" Mew said earnestly, he was not going to lose this opportunity.

"Maybe you like me because you haven't been in a relationship with a female in the past 6 months" Gulf tried reasoning with Mew, with the news reporters engaging in Mew's private life even Gulf knew who and when Mew dated.

"If I wanted I would have gotten a girl but I just couldn't" Mew answered "Will you accept my confession?"

"I need time to think, this is a first for me too" Gulf said

"3 days, thats' the max I can wait" Mew tried giving him an ultimatum

"One week, I need to sort out my feeling" Gulf reasoned, 3 days were not even close to enough.

"I'll make you fall for me within 3 days, mark my words" Mew said smirking. Confident much....

He turned and walked to his car, then stopped and walked towards Gulf

"Get in the car, I'll drive you home" Mew said

Gulf got in the silently after Mew's rambling. Mew went in the drivers seat and sat. A few seconds later its like he remembered something and turned towards Gulf.

From his seat he extended his body towards Gulfs seat making poor Gulf shrink into his seat further and further until he had no place to squish to. Mew was taking this too fast, Gulf needed to say something and fast........

"Sir, this is .............."

Mew extended his hand and pulled the seat belt and clicked it in.

"Safety first" Mew said chuckling, "I am giving you the 3 days, don't worry"

Gulf sighed a breath of relief, was he thinking too much, he has been having weird feeling since he started working with Mew, he just couldn't justify why his emotions were all over the place, like expecting something a lot
