“I can’t believe that you guys are leaving so soon!” Alexis sniffled, bouncing Andrew gently in her arms.

“I know…” I sighed, resting my hands on my growing baby bump.  “It’s going by really, really fast…and I just…I don’t want to leave!” I wailed, burying my face in my hands.

Alexis put Andrew in the portable crib and scooted next to me, wrapping her arms around me.

“I don’t want you to leave either.” She said; her voice thick.

“I don’t want to leave Izzy; or you guys.”  I sniffled.

“I just…I can’t do it.” I said; my voice breaking.

“Have you talked to Nolan about how you’re feeling?”

“No.”

“Well here’s your chance.” She said, nodding behind me.

“Hey.  What’s going on?” Nolan asked.  I turned to face him and his eyebrows furrowed in concern.  “Are you alright?”

“She’s getting emotional about moving.” Alexis said, standing up and walking over to where baby Andrew was sleeping.

“What’s she talking about?”  He asked.

“I think we need to talk.”

“Uh oh…those words are never good.” He sighed.  “Let’s go in the living room.”

I nodded and followed him. “Good idea.”

“What’s wrong, Reg?”

“It’s…I don’t want to leave.”

“Regan…we’ve been over this.  I don’t want to leave either, but that’s where my boss wants me.”

“I don’t want to leave Izzy!” I wailed. “I feel like a terrible sister; it seems like once we had Brayden I ditched her.”

“You didn’t ditch her.  She wanted to live with my parents.”

“I know…b-but…I’m a terrible person!”

“Come here, honey.” He said, sitting on the couch and opening his arms.  I crawled into them and he wrapped them around me.  “You are not a terrible person.”

“I am, too.” I said, my voice muffled by his shirt.  He flicked the top of my head and I looked at him. “Ouch! What was that for?”

“Stop saying that.”

“Fine.” I muttered.

“I know you’re going to miss them; I am too…but we have to move.  If we didn’t have to, then we wouldn’t be moving in four days.”

“Holy crap…four days already?”

“I know…it’s coming quickly.” He sighed.  “Are you feeling better about this?”

“No…but I can tell you’re just as upset about this as I am.”

“You can? How?”

“Nolan, I’m your wife.  You really don’t think I can tell when you’re upset about something?” I said, staring at him as if he’d grown a third head. “It’s in your eyes.”

As soon as I said that his façade dropped, and I could see on his face how truly upset he was.  “Nolan? Talk to me; what’s going on?  You seemed so happy about all of this.”

“Of course I’m not happy.  I’m leaving the place I grew up in, and I’m leaving the people I grew up with.”  He sighed sadly.

“Are you absolutely certain we have to?”

“Well considering we paid for the house in Colorado, packed up our soon to be old house, sold said house to some really nice people and I accepted the job in Colorado…I’d say yeah, we do.”

“Dang.” I muttered.

“I know…”  He sighed.

“Goodbye.” I sobbed, hugging mom.

“I can’t believe you three are leaving.” Mom cried, hugging me back.

“Five, technically.”

“Can we come out when you have the twins?”  She asked tearily and I nodded, turning to say goodbye to Izzy.

“Regan, I don’t want you to go.” She cried, wrapping her little arms around my neck when I squatted down in front of her.  “Brayden and Nolan can go, but I want you to stay with me.” She sobbed into my neck

“I’m sorry, Iz.” I whispered, my voice cracking.   “I have to go, but I promise when we land, I’ll call you, okay?”  I said and she nodded.  “I love you so, so much.”

“I love you too.”  She whispered.

“I need to say goodbye to the others now.”

“Hey, Izzy.” Nolan said, squatting down in front of her.

“Goodbye, Alexis.”  I said, giving her a hug.

“Bye, sweetie.” She sighed sadly.  “I’m going to miss you.  You’re coming back out for Ethan and Savannah’s wedding, right?”

“Yeah…when is it?”

“Honestly…I don’t know.  They say they want a long engagement or something…someone will let you guys know when it is.” She said and then put her hand on my stomach. “Take care of my nephews.”

“I will, I promise.”

Final boarding call for flight 815 to Colorado in gate 12B’ a voice over the intercom told us.

“That’s us.” I sighed, taking Brayden from mom.  “Nolan, we gotta go.”  I sighed, tugging on his sleeve.

“I know.” He said.

“Bye, everybody.” I said tearily, giving everyone one last hug. “Let’s go, Nolan.”  I said, wiping tears from my eyes.

Two more chapters, guys! That’s it, and it’s over! =(

The good new is that there’s going to be a third book that  has nothing to do with the story lines to Be My Shelter, or Be My Shelter 2

The bad news is that I won’t post it until I finish writing my other stories (Which I feel will end terribly and crappily…oh well)

That’s all for now!

Happy Thanksgiving!
