“Oh…wow.” The nurse said as she did my ultrasound.

“What’s wrong? Is the baby okay?” I asked worriedly, gripping Nolan’s hand tightly.  I turned my head to him, a look of panic on both of our faces.

“Calm down guys.  We can still hear the baby’s heartbeat.” Mom said, trying to soothe us.

“She’s right.  I’m sorry to have alarmed you two, you’re baby is fine.” The nurse said kindly.

“Then what’s the matter?” I asked anxiously.

“Nothing is wrong.” She said and we all sighed in relief. “It’s just…you’re only 12 weeks, but I can clearly tell the sex of the baby.  Would you like to find out now, or are you planning on keeping it a surprise?” She asked.  I glanced at Nolan and saw he was grinning at me.

“Yeah.” I replied, staring intently at the screen.  The sound of the heartbeat and the image of our baby, moving on the screen still amazed me.

“Alright….” She trailed off, moving the wand around on my stomach to get a clearer picture. “Congratulations, you’re having…a boy!” she said, pointing to the correct part and labeling it ‘Boy’

“A boy? We’re having a boy! Reagan, look! It’s a boy!” Nolan exclaimed, pointing to the screen and practically bouncing in his chair.

“Yes, Nolan, I can read.” I laughed.  The nurse printed out the picture and handed me a Kleenex to wipe the goo off of my stomach.

“It looks like your baby boy is healthy, congratulations you two.” She smiled, handing us the picture.  I stood up from the table and tapped Nolan’s shoulder.  He was still sitting in the chair and grinning at the picture like the Cheshire cat.

“Come on Nolan.  I have to pee, so hurry up.” I told him, doing the potty dance.  I had to drink water until my bladder was nearly bursting so that the nurse could get a clearer picture of the baby, or something like that.

“Hmm?” He asked, looking up at me.  I rolled my eyes at him and tugged on his arm.

“It’s time to go, and I have to pee.  Can you set up our next appointment?” I asked and he nodded.

“I can’t believe you’re just telling me about this now!” Payton, my best friend from high school told me when I called and told her about the baby.  “I have to call Keith and Keegan.  They are gonna freak!” She exclaimed.

“How are you guys doing? I haven’t talked to you since the wedding.” I said, cringing when I realized it’s been two years.

“You are in trouble missy! We haven’t seen each other in years, then you call me up, tell me you and Nolan are going to have a baby and then you ask how we’re doing?!” Payton shrieked. I winced and held the phone away from my face. Nolan raised an eyebrow at me.

“I told Payton about the baby.”  I whispered and Nolan nodded.

“So you guys want to come over?” I asked.

“Yes!” She shouted.

“Stop yelling.” I said and she laughed.

“Sorry.”

”No problem.  So, how about tomorrow?” I asked.

“Kay, see you then.” she said, hanging up the phone.

“REAGAN!!!!” Payton shrieked when Nolan opened the door.  I got up from the couch and walked over to her eagerly, Izzy was following close behind me.

“Payton! You don’t need to yell.” I laughed, she definitely got louder since the last time I saw her.

“Sorry.  Izzy! How are you?” She asked, kneeling down so she was the same size as Izzy.

“Good.” Izzy whispered shyly.  Payton stood up and grinned at me.

“You have a baby belly! Aww it looks like a bubble.” She cooed. “That’s you’re baby’s nickname.”

“Uhh, Payton? We’re having a boy, not a girl.” Nolan said, looking away from Keith and Keegan.  They came over to me and I was sandwiched between both Keith and Keegan as they both tried to hug me.

“Stop!” Both Payton and Nolan yelled.  Nolan sounded more worried.

“I grinned as they put me down.

“What?” They asked in unison.

“Please be more careful.  She is pregnant you know.” Nolan said, walking over to me.

“Pregnant?” Keegan asked.

“You guys are gonna be parents?” Keith asked.

“I thought Payton told you guys.” I said, glaring playfully at Payton.

“Whoops.” She grinned sheepishly.  I rolled my eyes.

“Whoa, you have a belly.” Keith said, staring at my abdomen.

“Way to state the obvious.” I said, rolling my eyes.

“Sorry.” He grinned.

“Yeah, yeah.  Let’s go sit down.” I said, pointing at the couch.  We all sat down and talked about our lives for the past two years.

Hey guys! My school is on Spring Break, so I’ll have more time to write.  I’m pretty sure this chapter was awful, but I don’t really know what I’m going to write next… Oh well, I’ll figure it out.  Please comment and vote, if you wanna.  Thank you!
