Ever So Fertile

Overnight, more Crew arrived with trucks and vans and dumpsters. In addition to all the gear and members of the Crew we do not know, we saw some old Crew friends that we have not seen for a while.

Morgan and I were watching a truck unload and waved when we saw familiar faces.

Alice, Marina, Ava, Luciana, Mia, Harper, and Valeria had been with us on our Mexican campaign to take out a rogue female Vampire who was running a drug cartel. Upon seeing us, they all zoomed our way, and there was unmitigated joy at our reunion. Much hugging and kissing and lifting each other into the air.

Harper held Morgan at arm's length, "You look amazing! Last time I saw you, you just had your ass literally blown off by the psychopath! Let me look at you!"

"OK." Morgan said. "As if I could stop you." she said, smiling at the woman's happiness to see her.

While Morgan was being ogled, Mia said to me, "And here you are, in the middle of yet another big, old, world-changing discovery. Knowing you: Naturally! But of course you are! It's YOU!"

Harper held up Morgan's left hand and looked at her rings. "And... look what you did! I heard you finally got smart. Congratulations!"

Luciana said "I heard you have a baby. A real live baby. Not adopted! This is real? There are fertile male Vampires? Alexander is one? ADRAIN is one? I mean... Shit!"

Alice added, "As I hear it, they can help anyone have a baby? Like Carol and DeWayne can have a kid?"

Morgan had been swiveling her head from comment to comment, unable to get a comment in edge-wise. She finally was able to insert answers. "My ass is much better, thank you, Harper. Yes, we have managed to get into trouble a fair amount since we last saw you all, Mia. Yes, I figured it out eventually, and I proposed and they said 'yes' and we are married and have been for a while, Harper. Yes. Jessica, Helen, and I have all had children, Luciana. Alexander has had children with Humans, Sirens, Astrals, and Vampires. Over one hundred down the centuries. He has helped others have children too, via correct use of his biochemical gifts. Carol and DeWayne can more than likely have a kid, Alice. There. I think I got them all answered...!"

Valeria asked, "And where is this ever so fertile Alexander?"

"That is a timeless story full of lust, angst, and an overarching theme of assholedom, but the quick version is that he is not here. He has a life outside Ninovan as well: a Vampire life. He is in that existence at the moment. I am sure with Crew resources you can turn him up if you need him for anything, such as mind-blowingly self-centered and awful sex." Morgan assured.

"Oh? That is unfortunate." Valeria said, then she looked at me. "You have this same capability as well? To be able to help others?"

"Yes. I can help you have a child. You have to pick a father and then work with Jessica on the details. We won't be starting any projects like that until we get this place moved. I overheard them talking about where to put the fertility clinic in New Ninovan, so I know that is in the plan." I replied, internally resigned to the fact that my pheromones and blood are now a sort of public property. Better than being hauled off to Crew science headquarters, though. At least the very fact that I am not unique mitigated that fate.
