Jessica Confesses

Dinner is done, Baths and homework complete, baby-making food support delivered to Danny and Lori (Lori came out to look it over, and I squeezed her tush, and she kissed my cheek), the seven of us are now sitting at the table, having after-dinner drinks.

Jessica sighed. It is time. "Helen. I fucked up."

Helen has been waiting for this, after hearing us talk in the kitchen. Helen can tell that Jessica is not exactly herself yet. 90% Jessica maybe. She knew she had to face this moment. Morgan told her it is on HER to do it. Right now Jessica would walk on hot coals for Morgan. Morgan told her that confession like this would be part of the healing for Jessica. 

"I will love you no matter what, Jessica. Hold that to your heart as you get right with Helen." Morgan told her. Then they went to bed. That happened a great deal on the way home.

"Oh? Do tell." Helen requested of her. Her tone speaking volumes already. As someone that has been on the receiving end of that tone for most of our relationship, I do not envy Jessica.

Jessica heaved another, deeper sigh. A look over at Morgan and I for support and courage, then a quick look at Vera, Angel, and Rachel. She is coming clean in front of a lot of people, although four of us already know the scoop and two of us had to watch the act. Despite that, this confession could not be easy. I admire her bravery. It would have been far easier to pull Helen aside. Her shoulders slumped, but Jessica maintained eye contact.

"I cheated on you. Sexually cheated on you. I fucked someone not on my list. Not approved by anyone. I had an extramarital affair. No other way to put it." Jessica admitted.

"With?" Helen asked, much colder.

"In Ninovan, there is a male Vampire. A fertile one, like Adrian. Alexander. We talked about him on the phone. Hundreds of kids. I took him to bed, and I had sex with him. Showed him the fang thing." Jessica said. She did not make that sound sexy.

Jessica is keeping it short and to the point. She is also not trying to dress it up in fancy words.

"I see." Now Helen's voice was ice.

"You know about this?" Helen asked me, still icy. I did not think this would be MY confession too. 

"Yes." I said. If Jessica can meet Helen's eyes, I can.

"I see." Helen said, and it was quite obvious that was not approving.

Helen pivoted to Morgan. "And you? Did you know Jessica was going to do that?"

"Yes." Morgan replied evenly. "Adrian and I were there at the beginning, to be sure the fool did not hurt Jessica. I forced the two of us to watch. My idea. Fanging is not a thing for beginners. Jessica was already hurting herself, but I would not have her physically hurt because of her utter stupidity. She knows how I feel about her cheating on ME as well. About like you are now. Once the fanging part was over, Adrian and I left. We could not watch any further, and we were both about to break down and cry listening to Jessica's utter and complete degradation at the hands of the Ninovan lothario. My point was made to Alexander, and more importantly to Jessica. He was not to hurt her physically. She was stabbing Adrian and my heart mentally. I could do no more."

"What did you do then?" Helen stayed focused on Morgan.

"Adrian and I got into the back seat of the truck and we had sex over and over. All night long. Until we passed out from exhaustion." Morgan explained.

"That to wash the sight of what Jessica was doing out of your minds? Your hearts?" Helen asked, and we are nearing absolute zero now.

"In part." Morgan said, and she absolutely refused to let Helen scare her. "Adrian and I saw how miserable Jessica was, and we hurt for her, and but we knew we had to let her make her own mistakes, no matter how we felt about it. When we left, she knew how WE felt about it. The sexual act, given who it was with, was also the immediate consequence, and no matter how angry you are right now, nothing you can say or do will make her feel any worse than she already has felt and still does feel. We have been loving the hell out of her ever since, so she can get up off the floor."
