You had taken your managers words to heart. You tried your best to stop eating as much, and went to train at the practice fields a lot more. Your weight when you were younger had never been an Issue, for you had always been skinny as a rail. After two kids though, your body's tune changed a wee bit.
It wasn't fat, but it definitely wasn't skinny. They wanted you skinny. They wanted you skinny yet voluptuous at the same time. You weren't ever a very curvy girl, and had never been anything more than an A cup until you had Eva. Now you were barely a B, and yet you felt as though that was enough, but apparently it wasn't.
You were doing everything you could to lose weight and make yourself beautiful.
Today was the day of the field shoot, and when you and Benny arrived, they instantly separated you both, taking you to different areas.
You'd been to this field several times, but never had you seen the green room all decked out the way it was, with clothing racks, and mirrors, and lights. It seemed so foreign.
You looked upon the costumes they were going to put all the girls in. They looked like amped up versions of what the old female baseball teams wore in the 1940s. It truly was a classic looking outfit, but the skirts were very short.
You sighed as you pulled on the outfit and the socks they set out for you. What was it with these people and high knee socks?
You reached for your PF Flyers and began to undoe the laces a bit, but before you were even able to get your foot in, the clothing supervisor held out a pair of shiny black heels. They were sleek and elegant, very popular with the times.
No way in hell you'd wear them.
"Hey, Liza, if it's okay I was just gonna wear my own shoes today. I usually look weird when I wear heels anyways. I usually tower over the other girls." You tried to use that as an excuse, but it wasn't the real reason you wouldn't wear them. The real reason was that this isn't who you were. You weren't some girly, chic, fashionista that kept up with all the new trends.
You were a tough, scruffy, tomboy, and you were proud to be. You had your feminine side when it vame to things like compassion, and kindness, especially when mothering your children, but you were not the everyday house wife that most women were in the day and age.
"Okay dear, let's get you to makeup, the other girls are already there!" She patted your shoulder and hurried you along gently, waiting only a few more seconds for you to finish tying your shoes.
In the next minute, you were brought to another room, where three girls sat and talked, having fun. You smiled at the sight, knowing you would have fun with them too. You walked over to your makeup chair and waved at the girls.
"Hey Mack! You just missed it, Cece was telling us about how hot she thinks Simons is." Aally yelled out, probably trying to get everyone within a mile radius to hear about it.
"Oh shut up I was not. I simply implied that he was atttactive, that's all." Cece tried to defend herself, though she burst out into laughter a second later.
"I'm assuming they already paired you guys up with the players?" You asked, sitting back against the spinning chair while a woman came to doll you up.
"Yep. Adele got Rowen.... she seems happy about it." Aally gestured to the curly haired girl, who's cheeks were redder than a tomato.
"I may or may not be into him a little." She admitted, smiling from ear to ear as the makeup artist continued to make her up.
"Well, I do know them. Maybe I can put in a good word." You said, watching as both Cece and Adele snapped their heads to you.
