The drive wasn't as long as you'd though it would be, although it did seem pretty long due to the fact that you were blind folded.
You tried to guess where you were going, seeing if Benny would fold but he kept quiet about the mystery destination.
Whenever you tried to peel away the bandana that was tied over your face, Benny always grabbed your hand away, pulling it to his lips to press a kiss to your knuckles. It always made you flustered, and you neglected the need to try and peek through your blindfold.
Whenever he wasn't trying to get you to keep your hands away from your face, his hand rested at your upper thigh, it's usual resting place for when Benny is driving.
Your heart still slipped a best whenever his hands met anywhere on your body. You didn't think that would ever go away.
You felt the car pull into the parking lot of wherever you were, and he turned off the engine.
"Alright, I'll be right back, okay? And for the love of God please don't try and look, it'll ruin the surprise." He joked, leaning over to press a quick kiss to your cheek before getting out.
"Fine, but don't take too long or I'll have no other choice." You said, smiling childishly as if you wouldn't obey him.
"I'll go as fast as I can."
You heard him open the trunk of the car and get your suitcases, so you figured you must be parked at some sort of hotel. Duh.
The question was, if it wasn't the hotel that was a surprise, then what was the destination? You had driven for about half an hour to get where you were, so you thought it might be something like the beach. It would make sense, Benny had always told you he wanted to take you to the beach.
You sat where you were for a few more minutes. You got stir crazy and figured that if Benny was still inside, he wouldn't notice if you took a small peek.
You raised your hand to your face, delicately placing your thumbs under the bandana.
"Don't you dare." You heard a voice from right beside you all of a sudden, making you jump in your seat and reach over, smacking him in the arm.
"Geeze Benny you're gonna give me a heart attack..." You sat back in your seat, trying to get your heart to beat normal again.
He was just sitting beside you, laughing his head off. That beautiful laugh that you adored so much. When the sound echoed in your ears all anger towards him faded away.
Benny started the car and placed his hand back on your thigh, before you felt him pull out of the parking space.
There was a short and silent drive after that, and only lasted about five minutes. You knew you were probably at the beach, but you wouldn't say anything because he was so excited to surprise you.
When he parked the car again and got out, you figured you wouldn't try and pull up the blindfold anymore because you were almost there. He came around to your side and opened the door, helping you out. You nearly tripped over the car on the way out but he caught you, holding you close to him.
"Remind me to never let you blindfold me again." You chuckled. He started leading you by the hand, but you were scared to walk and fall down because you couldn't see.
"Now why would I do that." He joked. He kept walking and as he did, you noticed you couldn't hear anythingthat sounded even close to the ocean. You did however hear soft music being played. You couldn't quit place it, but it sounded familiar.
You also noticed that you were not stepping on sand or anything close to it. There was no way you were at the beach.
That just made it an even bigger mystery to you. Perhaps he'd done a good job of surprising you because you had no clue as to where you were walking right now.
You were holding his right hand with your right one, and had your left one wrapped around his arm to make sure you wouldn't fall over.
He turned his direction before walking closer to the musical sound and before you knew it, you heard a small whistle and the sound of crowds talking. You walked through what felt like a turn style before Benny stopped you.
You felt him reach up to take off your blind fold, and as soon as it was off you knew exactly where you were.
A giant smile came across your feature as you took in your surroundings.
"Surprise." He said, coming up behind you, hugging you and pressing a kiss to your neck.
"Benny, how did you even remember..." You trailed off, still taking in everything around you.
You gazed upon the colorful flower arrangement that say underneath the train station in the shape of Mickey Mouse.
You were in Disneyland.
A place that you'd dreamt of coming to since it opened when you were a little girl. You'd vaguely remembered only one occasion when you'd told Benny about it. You were both only fourteen still.
You couldn't believe he remembered about it.
"I remember everything you tell me." He whispered in your ear, sending chills down your spine.
You had such a wide smile on your face you were afraid people might think you were crazy. You were not crazy, just extremely excited.
"You are amazing. Amazing and wonderful. Thank you." You turned around, wrapping your arms around his neck before kissing him. He lifted you off the ground a bit, and it looked a bit like something you might see in a movie.
"Anything for you, my love. Anything." He told you before kissing you again. Even though you had an entire park of fun activities ahead of you, you were content to stand and kiss your husband for a few minutes. He was the most beautiful person in this world as far as you were concerned, and made you smile at least once everyday. Even on the bad days.
He was the only one for you, and you'd never had a doubt about it. Never once did you think that you could ever love someone but him. You'd dated someone else, sure. But no one could ever compare to this boy that you'd fallen for all but six and a half years ago. This boy that you'd decided was the one after only looking into his eyes for the first time.
He pulled back to look down at you with a smile as wide as yours. Although he'd love to take you back to the room and make it so that you couldn't walk the next day, he did kind of plan on actually going into the park.
"You wanna go in?" He nodded in the direction of the park that sat on the other side of the train station.
"Absolutely I do." You laughed, takin him but hand and running into the left side underpass like a child on Christmas morning. Disneyland was meant to bring out the child in everyone, and you still had quite a bit of child in you. So did Benny.
As you got through to the other side, you were met with a lovely little street, Mainstreet USA.
It was quite beautiful and looked like something from older times. Your smile had not yet left your face and Benny noticed how giddy you were. He'd done his job.
"Hey.... last one to the carousel has to do the laundry when we get back!" He nudged your shoulder before taking off down the road ahead of him.
It took you no less than a second to start sprinting after him.
"Prepare to deal with Eva's muddy socks then!" You shouted after him, catching up within moments.
"Yeah right, you can't catch Benny the jet." He teased, running a little faster so you wouldn't pass him.
"I already did once, remember?"
"Not recently."
You both laughed, running as though you were still fourteen year old children. Some things never change it would seem.
