Worst Fear

Zak's point of view

I don't know what's worse sleeping next to someone you hate or waking up with serious anxiety. Personally I think sleeping with someone you hate would be the worst thing right now but I was wrong...

I woke up in a panic and my heart was beating so fast. I'm having a panic attack. What suddenly made the moment worse my phone started to call and I saw that the hospital was calling me, and I began to panic even more.

Zak: "Hello"

Doctor: "Hello is this Zak Bagans?"

Zak: "speaking"

Doctor: "Mr Bagans we've got a patient here under the name of Y/N   Y/L/N  do you know her?"

Zak: "yes I do, is she OK?"

Then I heard the doctor sighed deeply before he continued.

Doctor: "Y/N has been involved in a serious road traffic accident and she's in critical condition. I think its best if you can come to the hospital"

The doctors words rang out in a echo on a constant repeat. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, tears was forming in my eyes and I can feel my heart breaking into tiny pieces.

Zak: "OK, I'm on my way"

After I ended the call my mind came back into focus and I became angry. So angry I actually woke Holly up harshly and I started shouting at her

Zak: "Get the Fuck out!"

Holly: "what? Why? Why are you so angry BB?"

Zak: "don't give me none of that shit, if you didn't send Y/N away she would still been here safe instead of laying in a hospital bed!!"

Holly: "Zak what's going on?"

Zak: "get out!"

Holly: "why?"

Zak: "GET OUT!!"

Holly quickly gathered all of her things and was making her way downstairs.

Holly: "will you please tell me what's going on and why are you blaming me for what has happened to Y/N?"

Zak: "NO! This is all your fault. I want you to leave, I don't even want to look or see you right now I'm that angry!"

Holly: "fine I'll leave, but I'll see you in a few days when all this blows over"

Zak: "this shit won't blow over in just one night Holly. If something happens to Y/N and I lose her you'll never hear the end of this. I'll make your life like living Hell like the way you've just turned my life into hell!"

Holly turned around and looked at me

Holly: "we'll see about that, I'll see you soon"

Holly then turned around again, got into her car and left. I quickly stuck my shoes on before I made sure the house was secure, then I grabbed my car keys and made my way to the hospital.

On they way to the hospital I kept breaking down emotionally, all I could do was pray that Y/N will be OK. I don't want to lose her, I can't lose her.

Finally I made it to the hospital, I quickly parked the car and made my way inside. I got to the reception desk and said I was here to see Y/N just as the doctor came over to me. As he started talking to me he took me up to intensive care to Y/N.

Doctor: "Mr Bagans, Y/N is OK but shes in a very critical condition. She's under alot of care in the ICU"

My heart felt like it was breaking even more.

Zak: "will she pull through and be OK?"

Doctor: "it's early days but there is a high chance Y/N will need alot of care after this and alot of physical therapy treatment".

Before the doctor took me into the room Y/N is on he took me to his office and showed me Y/N's x-rays.

Doctor: "as you can see here she's got a severe break in her left arm and leg. Here is the x-ray of her spine and you can see she's had some of the impact on her nerve and spine".

Zak: "does that mean there could be a chance she'd never be able to walk again?"

Doctor: "as I said it's early days, but with the right care and support she should be able to walk again eventually. But theres a problem with the next x-ray I'm about to show you"

There it is again, the panic attack. To be honest it never went away it only calmed down slightly. Then before the doctor even showed me the damage I can see a fracture on Y/N's skull.

Doctor: "as you can see here Y/N has stained a head injury, it might not look as bad now but it depends on how severe it is when Y/N wakes up"

Zak: "what do you mean?"

Doctor: "there could be a chance Y/N's memory might be affected by the impact or her speech could be affected".

Hearing that my girl might not be able to talk or even remember anything hurts. What if she doesn't remember me, what if I never get to hear her talk to me or even hear her sing whilst in the car again.

Zak: "can I see her?"

Doctor: "of course, she's in a private room too so if you'd be comfortable staying with her we're happy to help".

Zak: "thank you"

Then the doctor took me to the room Y/N was in. As soon as I saw her laying in bed my heart broke and I can feel tears building up in my eyes.

Doctor: "I'll give you some space, if there's any problems press this button and someone will be right with you"

Zak: "thank you"

Then the doctor left the room and I was on my own with Y/N. I slowly sat down on the chair next to the bed and I carefully held her hand in mine.

As I held Y/N's hand in mine, I carefully lifted her hand and kissed her hand.

Zak: "I'm sorry baby, I'm so sorry for everything. I should have stopped you from leaving, I should have stood up for you against Holly".

As I looked at Y/N the tears I've been building up all came flooding out and I cried. I leaned my head against my hands whilst still holding Y/N's hand and cried more.

Zak: "please don't leave me baby, I need you with me"
