Sandwich [ Wong Yukhei ]

Eleven.

He eventually left after finishing his coffee. I immediately called Johnny, to tell him about today. "Hey Princess, what's up?" He answered. "Hey, you won't believe who I ran into today." I said. "Who is it?" He asked.

 "He's here. He's in Chicago. What should I do?" I said.

 "What?! How?!" He replied frantically. "He's a businessman, John. He has business trips to attend to," I said in a matter-of-fact tone. "Well, there's an Asian Business Summit, going on in Chicago, so it makes sense if he's there. So what do you want to do now?" 

"I'm going back there. Tonight." I said. "Oh, great. Wait, what?! You're going home? Tonight?" "Yep. There's no point in hiding anymore. He already knows that I have a child. He saw Luna." I said. "The only way, to deal with this issue is to face it head-on," I added. 

"Okay, I'll send you your flight details in thirty," "Thanks a lot, John. I really owe you a lot." "No problem, Princess. Bye now," He said and I ended the call. I cleaned up the pantry and exited the café. I drove back to my apartment.

 As soon as I got back home, I started to pack Luna's clothes. The doorbell rang and it was Jaehyun with Luna. "Hey Jae, I just wanted to let you know that we're going back to Singapore." "Wait, are you serious?" He asked, completely puzzled about the situation. "Yep, I am. What's the point of hiding here when he already knows that I have a child?" I said. "When are you leaving? What about the café?" He asked frantically.

 "I'll email my resignation, Jae. I have to go back to Singapore. He already knows, what's the point of hiding?" I said in a matter-of-fact tone. Jaehyun has been really supportive of us, and I hope he understands my decision. 

"Well, you do have a point though. Does he know that Luna is his?" He asked. "Most probably not. Before I left Singapore there were rumors that Johnny and I were together and he probably thinks that Luna is Johnny's." 

I said while folding my clothes. The entire trip to the airport, Luna has been asking me a lot of questions. Questions such as why are we suddenly leaving, and I just feel bad that I could not even tell her the truth.

 We finally got to the airport, and Jaehyun dropped us off. Luna was having separation anxiety from Jaehyun and started crying. "Uncle Jae, I'll see you again right?" Luna said, hugging him tightly. "Of course, Lulu, You'll see me again. I will follow you and your mommy back to Singapore soon. Be a good girl okay?" Jaehyun said. 

"I will, I won't stress out mommy," Luna replied. "Jae, thank you so much. I don't what I'd do without you," I said. "No, problem Cat. You know I promised Luna, that I'll take care of her. Now, go ahead, take care okay?" 

He said. Jaehyun confessed to me a few months back, but I just turned him down. I feel like it was just unfair that Luna hasn't even met her father yet, and I already have a new man.

 Don't get me wrong, Jaehyun's a good guy, but I really just don't see myself with him. I hugged him one last time, and we entered the airport. 

 We went through all the basic airport security measures, and we finally made it to our gate. As soon as I sat down, my phone started ringing. It was my father calling me.

"Catalina Anne, why didn't you tell me you were coming home?" My father said.

"Well, how are you, Dad?" I said, chuckling. I haven't even said hello yet. "Are you finally coming back here? With Luna?" He asked. He hasn't even met Luna in person yet. They only met via Skype.

"Yes, Dad. I'm going home for good." I replied. I was looking at Luna, busy watching Paw Patrol on her iPad."What about Yukhei? Are you telling him about Luna?" My dad asked. He knows its a sensitive topic.

" I don't know Dad. He already knows that I have a daughter. He just doesn't know who is Luna's father." I said, calmly.

"What? Did you tell him?" I could hear the evident shock in his voice. He knows the reason why I went to Chicago was to hide from Yukhei."No, Dad. He went to the cafe I worked at. He saw me there with Luna." I said.

"Really? He must miss you then," My Dad jokingly said.

"Cathay Pacific, Flight 678 Bound for Singapore is now accepting passengers with small children and business class for boarding," The intercom said.

"Oh, Dad, I think we're boarding now," I said.

"Oh really? Have a safe flight my darlings. I'll wait for you at the airport." He said.

"Bye Dad," I said and ended the call.

You might be wondering why my father is suddenly like this. Well, a few years back, we actually got to resolve our issues, and he has been very supportive of my decisions. On the other hand, my mother, I haven't spoken to her in four years already. When I got pregnant with Luna and chose to divorce Yukhei, she didn't like the fact that I was going to raise Luna by myself.

I took my purse, and gently patted Luna on the back.'

"Baby, let's go. Let's board the plane." I said.

Luna immediately stood up, and I held her coat in my hand. It's going to be hot in Singapore, so I just brought her a thin coat.

"Mommy, I have a question," Luna asked, shaking my hand to get my attention.

"Yes, my love what is it?" I answered.

We were already lining up to board the plane.

"Am I going to meet my Daddy when we get there?" Luna asked, looking at me with hopeful eyes. I couldn't answer her. Yukhei doesn't even know he has a daughter. I don't know how will he react to this.

"I'm not sure baby, I think your daddy is busy," I replied, carrying her in my arms.

"But mommy, I haven't met him yet. Does he not love me? I'll be a good girl, I promise!" Luna said. It honestly breaks my heart seeing Luna beg for her father. But I had no choice. Her father was not ready to be one.

"I'll try my best baby. Now, smile for me please," I said, wanting to cheer her up.

We safely got on the plane to Singapore, and honestly, I am nervous. 

Some intel probably knows that I am finally flying back to Singapore, with a child.
