Junmin Park (Class 5)

Junmin Park was born on the 20th of November, 1997. He was 16 when he died.

Junmin was the eldest child. His mother adored him from a young age, and she had a routine she did to him every morning. She'd kiss him on the forehead for at least 10 minutes and wish him a good morning. He went to an acting academy when he was young, and he appeared in a few commercials, EBS Children's program, and even in one K-drama named Yellow Handkerchief (노란손수건) Junmin had a big group of friends, 21 of them. They decided to do a photoshoot after the field trip. Hyunseob Park and Jinhyung Lee didn't return with him. As Junmin grew up, he lost interest in acting and became more interested in becoming a barista. He bought a new coffee machine and started attending a barista academy. He was awaiting for the level 2 qualification test, that was supposed to take place after the field trip. Becoming a barista was his ultimate dream.

Junmin had called his mother during the sinking, but the phone kept hanging up. During the 26th attempt, his mother could make out Junmin's voice from all the static. ''I am wearing a life jacket and I should be out of the ferry soon.'' His death was crushing for her mother. She sometimes would fall asleep on top of his school uniform.

His body was recovered and returned to his family. He now rests at Hwaseong Sky Memorial Park.
