Chaeyeon Park was born on the 9th of April, 1997. She was 17 when she died.
Chaeyeon was the eldest of three sisters. When she was in elementary school, her parents divorced and she had to grow up without her mother. Chaeyeon had a good relationship with her dad, even though he called her a pig for eating too much. She walked with him when he left from work, and when they got home, Chaeyeon cooked him some ramen. To her father, she was irreplacable, and even seeing her picture after the sinking caused him to have a emotional breakdown. Chaeyeon's dream was to become a fashion designer, because she loved drawing clothes.
Her body was recovered and returned to her family. She now rests at Pyeongtaek Lakeside Memorial Park.
