Chanwoo Sohn (Class 7)

Chanwoo was born on the 9th of December, 1997. He was 16 when he died.

Chanwoo was the youngest of two brothers. His older brother adored him and bough Chanwoo anything he asked for. He was also adored by his mother, who loved to spoil him with hugs and lots of hair strokes. Chanwoo loved cooking, and usually made some food for his friends when they came over to his house. He had difficulties cooking fish, but he practiced hard.  His ultimate dream was to attend a cooking academy to learn about japanese food and become a cook after graduating.

Chanwoo appeared in his mother's dream after the sinking. He was disapointed that his school uniform wasn't found, but his mother was more focused on stroking his hair. According to her, it felt like he really was there, alive and well. His death overall was a crushing for her, and she still wakes up during the night, crying out for Chanwoo.

His body was recovered and returned to his parents. He now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park.
