One month later...
"I'm so happy that I studied properly this time," I breathe out in relief as I leave AP Lang with Vinnie. Vihaan had to leave to go straight to basketball, so it's just the two of us.
We had a test in class over this huge article we were annotating, and I made sure to study every detail. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that I got a 100. If not, then screw studying.
I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
"Always study hard, kiddos."
~Tia Venrar
Ooo, that's a good quote!
"Yeah, me too. That's probably because people legit terrified me, but it was WAY less difficult than what people made it out to be," Vinnie agrees with me as I nod my head.
I'm not kidding, everyone has been scaring me about this test since this morning. Bella told me that this test is most likely the hardest test we've taken in the first semester.
Coming from a straight A student, that should scare a person.
So I made sure to study my ass off with Vinnie and Vihaan after eating lunch, and I know it paid off for all of us.
Vinnie looks around cautiously before she talks, and I do it too. Yeah, I know it looks odd but there's a reason for it.
"So do you know if the decorations are ready for pickup tomorrow?" Vinnie questions in a whisper as I lean in towards her to answer.
"I have no idea. But maybe that'll change before you guys come over tonight."
"Oh, right. I forgot about that. I swear it's been so long since I've been there," she says as she lightly giggles to herself.
Okay, so I know this discussion makes no sense. But don't worry, we're not hatching a conspiracy with code words.
Tomorrow is Neil and Deepa's 18th birthday, and we're planning a surprise party at their house followed by a sleepover. We haven't done a sleepover since we started high school, and we're soooo stoked.
Even though our parents are coming too, we decided that we were going to do the planning instead of them. Surprisingly, our parents were fine with it.
I invited my friends to my house tonight so that we can talk about final preparations for tomorrow. We've been planning this party for 3 weeks, and we don't want to screw anything up at the last minute.
The reason why we're being extra vigilant is because
1) It's a surprise party (duh).
2) We're dealing with grade-A observationalists here.
When we tried throwing a surprise Sweet 16 for them, it got ruined because Neil saw coats on the coat rack. And then three years before that, Deepa found out about their 13th birthday because she saw the lights off in the house.
I guess you could say they have "Tw-intuition". Huh? Huh? Get it?
...Yeah, I'll see myself out.
Because of that, we have to be pretty careful. As far as we know, they don't seem to have a clue about anything.
"Yup! If you want, you can bring your homework with you. I'll be sure to tell the others that when I see them later," I inform her as she starts smiling.
I invited Vinnie, Vihaan, Kat, and Arjun to my house tonight so that we can talk about the final plan for tomorrow. We've came up with so many ideas for the past month, so tonight will help us come with a legit and foolproof plan. Vihaan's coming a bit late though since there's a basketball game tonight, but he probably won't be too late.
