Right after they arrive at the table...

"I picked this up at Cheesecake Factory today," Neil wiggles his eyebrows as he shows me the mystery dessert.

"No way, is this their TURTLE CHEESECAKE?" I continue staring at the cake as he puts it on the wooden table. The cheesecake is baked on top of a pecan brownie, with a caramel-flavored cream cheese base topped with some caramel pecans and chocolate frosting that's piped perfectly on top.

"Dang, are y'all just trying to stuff me today?" I laugh as he pulls out a pink sparkling candle and stuffs it right into the middle of the cake.

"Consider it a cheat day," he smiles funny before he grabs a matchbox. "Are you ready?" he asks me as he hands the matchbox to me.

"Yup, I'm ready," I smile before I light the candle on my cheesecake and it immediately starts to crackle.

"Joyeau anniversaire, joyeau anniversaire, joyeau anniversaire Tweet, joyeau anniversaire!" Neil sings in fluent French to me, and I raise an eyebrow at him.

"What? My mom made me learn French," he defends himself and I shake my head and blow the candle with a smile on my face.

Not gonna lie, him talking in French is pretty sexy. No wonder they're called Romantic languages.

"Yayyyyy!" he claps and cheers for me after I blow it out and he gives me a tiny knife. After cutting a tiny piece for myself, I put it in my mouth and indulge in the taste of it. I already know that I ate so much today, but I think I can save myself room for one more thing.

"My turn," he indicates with a slight sneer on his face as he grabs a spoon and dips it in the chocolate frosting.

Wait- please don't tell me he's gonna... And yup, he did.

"That's payback, baby," he smirks as he puts chocolate frosting pretty much all over my face.

"Hey! Come on, that was three months ago," I tell him as I try and take the frosting off of my face.

"So what? It still happened," he puts his hands on his hips before he grabs a napkin and helps me clean my face up. After about 30 seconds of going at it, my face is pretty much squeaky clean. But, Neil seems to be missing something because he's still leaning in, super close to my face.

I tilt my face up and raise my eyebrows as a way of asking him what he's doing, but he ends up doing the most unexpected thing. "I just realized I forgot something," he semi-whispers to me in that deep fruity voice, sending me chills.

"What did you forget?" I speculate hesitantly.

"Two things, actually. First off, we forgot to light the 4 candles," he points at the candles in the background that are still dull.

"I'll light them for you since I'm so sweet."

"You are?" I puzzle him in surprise as he stands up and grabs the matchbox again, wiping some dust off of his white jeans and redoing the laces of his black Converse.

"Are you really doubting that right now?" he questions offensively while walking around and lighting the four floating candles and clasping his chest with his hand. I roll my eyes and chuckle in response.

"So then what's the other thing?" He then kneels back down to where I am, just like before. And we both just stare at each other.

"I forgot to say that that you look absolutely stunning," he confesses with a genuine smile plastered on his face, and the fact that he looks gorgeous as hell right now doesn't make things any better right now.

On that note, I'm just going to crawl into a corner and try to hide how tomato-ish I look.

"Oh- um. Thanks, Neil," I hesitate a bit and he just chuckles.
