Night of the homecoming dance...

After a lot of singing and laughing, we finally reached school.

YAYYY! I'm so excited. I'm hoping that'll undo everything from these past few days.

Soon enough, we reach the entrance of the school. Neil opens the door for me, and I gasp while stepping inside. The decorations take my breath away, making me shocked. It's so beautiful!

After we both check-in with our tickets, we start looking around at the masterpiece in front of us.

This year, we chose "Enchanted Gardens" as our theme and it was certainly delivered. In the rotunda, ivory and white flowers bound with lights drape from the ceilings elegantly.

There's a giant backdrop near the stairs, with a sparkly blush pink curtain as the background. The stair railings are covered in tan chiffon fabric and streamers. They even add some floating candles and glass candlesticks on the stairs.

To add some pizzazz to the curtain, square-shaped panels covered in roses and carnations are placed perfectly. At the top of the backdrop, the words "RHS HOCO 2019" are displayed in rose gold font.

I look up to see a chandelier in the middle of the rotunda, adding a note of sophistication to the delicate decorations already there. This year, they really went above and beyond with the decorations.

"How much did they spend on all this? The decor is insane," Neil takes it in as he starts to look impressed. He rubs his eyes to make sure what we're seeing is real.

We look inside the cafeteria, where the dance is happening. It's pretty dark, but it gets illuminated with the bright colored lights. Well, I guess that means we'll see when we get there.

"There you guys are! When did you guys get here?" Deepa asks from behind as we turn to see the rest of the group come inside. Vinnie and Vihaan are checking out the decoration in awe while Kat, Arjun, and Rose are just having a conversation.

"We just got here too. We were just staring at the decorations until you guys came," I answer as she looks around.

"There you are!" Arjun says as he comes up to me.

"Sorry for not coming sooner, I was talking to Kat. She's super cool," he expresses as Neil nods his head.

"You never told me Arjun is this nice, Tia. I spent the entire car-ride talking to him," Kat comes up to us as she goes to Deepa's side.

"How much money do you think they spent on all this?" Vihaan asks curiously as he tries looking inside the dark cafeteria.

"Probably around 100k. This definitely went above budget," Neil says as Vinnie checks her phone. Ah, I love going to an affluent school.

"Natalia just texted me saying that the cafeteria looks way better than this," she says. Natalia is an outside hitter on the Varsity team and one of Vinnie's really good friends. We do talk from time to time, but we're not that close.

"Screw 100k, this is definitely around 300," Kat chimes in as some soccer players come up to us.

Vinnie and Vihaan then go to talk to a few of their friends while Kat and Deepa talk to some people from their Fashion Marketing class.

"No way! Arjun, is that you? Where have you been, man?" Miguel says while walking up to him. Arjun turns over to him and starts beaming.

"Just chilling at Blue Ridge," he gives him a bro-hug as he starts talking. It's so cool how everyone still knows him after he left. That just shows how popular he was when he went here.
