Friday, right after school...
Vinnie, Vihaan, and I got home as fast as we could after the bell rang. We have to go get the decorations from the mall in 15 minutes, so we definitely have to hurry. Neil and Deepa are coming to our house at around 7:30, and we have A LOT of decorations to put up.
"I don't know what outfit to pick, Vin," I rant to Vinnie on FaceTime as I run around my closet trying to find the perfect one. We all decided to color code for the party tonight, so Vinnie is wearing gold while I'm wearing purple.
"Dude, I just realized that I don't have any gold clothing," she rummages through her stuff as I look at her throwing clothes towards the camera.
"YES! I FOUND SOMETHING," she turns towards the camera as she holds up something in her hand as if it's Simba.
"Ooo, what is it?" I ask her as I play "The Circle of Life" on my phone as a joke.
"THE CIRCLE OF LIFE, IT MOVES US ALL," she sings along as she cradles the thing in its hands. I turn off the music after 10 seconds.
"I have to calm down, my god," she laughs as she shows me the clothing in her hand. It's a cute gold off-shoulder top with long sleeves.
"That's so cute. What are you going to wear it with?"
"Probably some skinny jeans," she shows me some dark wash jeans from her closet as I continue digging through my closet.
I spot my black denim skirt folded in my corner, and my eyes light up as I realize that this eternal search has come to an end. I show it to her, and she makes a thumbs up.
Now I have to find a top. Oh, the things we do for clothes.
"Hey, you're wearing your skirt right?" she asks me as I turn back towards the camera.
"Yeah."
"Why don't you wear that purple crop top you have? It'll look really good with the skirt, and you look super hot when you wear it."
Guess what, guys? My mom finally let me wear crop tops.
Yippeeee.
My mom told me I can wear whatever I want just as long as I'm responsible. But I'm not at the point of wearing tube tops and bikinis, just yet.
Don't worry, though. we'll get there.
"Really? I don't know. It's pretty tight-fitting, and you know how I eat at parties."
"Girl, what are you talking about? You're literal body goals. Even if you eat the most unhealthy thing ever, you look the same," Vinnie compliments me as I smile back.
"Dude, what about you? You have abs. Like a freaking six-pack," I back her up as she boasts and lifts up her shirt slightly to show off her glorious abs. I'm so jealous of them, honestly. I wish I had abs, but that'll happen when I break up with Cheez-Its.
I will NEVER break up with Cheez-Its. They're important to me, and they taste so frickin' good.
"But yeah, I'll wear the purple crop top with the skirt for tonight."
"Coolio. So are we doing pooltime after eating?" she asks me as she organizes her clothes on the floor.
"Yup. But like after an hour or so."
"Okey dokey. So should I just come to your house in my normal outfit?"
"Yeah, that sounds good."
