"Tia?"
"Tiia."
"TIA!" Arjun screams, bringing me back into the real world. Wow, was I reminiscing for that long?
"Oh what- huh?" I splutter as he starts to cackle again.
"I know you think I'm hot, but you should lay off the dirty thoughts. We're at a temple after all," he teases. He then winks and I roll my eyes at him.
"What were you thinking about anyway?" he questions after he stops laughing.
"I've just been stressed for the past 2 days because of something weird that happened," I admit, and he turns his chair around.
"Well, what's wrong? You can tell me." He then puts his hand on my shoulder so he can reassure me.
"Um... It's about Neil."
"Neil? As in Neil Grover?"
"Oh, no. Neil Armstrong."
"Wow, I'm crying," he remarks sarcastically. I chuckle a bit before I get serious again.
"But really? What's going on with Neil?"
Okay, here we go.
"So... Neil and I are... kind of..." Come on, Arjun is my best friend. Why is this so hard?
"Kind of what?"
Screw it. He needed to know eventually.
"NEIL'S MY BOYFRIEND!" I blurt out, and I cover my mouth immediately.
Arjun looks like he has no idea what the hell is going on. He runs his fingers through his hair, but he keeps his gaze on the ground. After 2 seconds, he looks back at me, and he puts his hands on my shoulders.
"Did you just say that you're dating Neil?"
Yup, he's in shock. Will he be mad? Will he be surprised?
"Yeah, I'm dating Neil. I was the one who technically asked him out," I tell him as his face coils into a weird look. It was pretty unreadable, honestly.
Was he pissed? Was he happy?
He still keeps his face like that for a few seconds. Okay, he is starting to creep me out.
"FINALLY! OH MY GOD," he spits out. His mouth coils into a grin, showing off his perfectly white teeth.
"Hold up. You expected this?"
"Duh. I've been shipping you two since the beginning of time."
"Why? We have nothing in common," I say as I laugh at his statement.
"Yes, you do."
"Can you name any?"
"You guys are stubborn. You both are crazy smart, and you guys play sports," he states, but I wasn't convinced.
"Is that all?"
"You guys don't realize this, but you have a huge soft spot for each other."
I know Arjun is smart but is he hearing himself right now?
"Neil doesn't care about me, Arjun. I think his life's mission is to annoy the crap out of me," I say, and he gives an are-you-serious look.
"I hang out with Neil all the time, Tia. It may not seem like he cares about you, but he looks out for you a lot." Just then, I felt my face getting flushed again.
Neil... cares about me?
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Arjun, you're not funny," I laugh sarcastically.
"Tweet, I know it's hard for you to have feelings for someone after what happened that time, but just think about it, ok?" he eagerly asks as he begins to widen his eyes and lean towards me.
